A long awaited milestone

By Staff
The Russellville City School System is saying goodbye to a beloved educator as RHS counselor Judy Pounders retires after 36 years of service in the system.
Pounders began her career in 1972. During her career, she taught at both West Elementary and the high school before becoming a counselor in 1996.
During Russellville's Board meeting last week, Superintendent Dr. Wayne Ray said he wished that he could tell her no, that she could not retire. Instead, he wished her all the best in her future endeavors.
Pounders has helped educate two generations while at Russellville including Kristie Ezzell, Chris James and Susan Hall, who are all employed by the school system.
While the school board has already filler her position, there is one thing for certain: You can fill the position but there will never be a replacement for Ms. Pounders.
Congratulations to Ms. Pounders on her retirement.
You will be missed but you will never be forgotten.
