Donald Kinkead

Donald Lee Kinkead, age 62 of Haleyville, died December 11, 2007 at his residence. He was born December 20, 1944 in Rolla, Miss., and was a Baptist. He was the plant manager at MZH, Inc. for 16 years, and later he and his wife, Loretta, owned and operated D &L Enterprise.
Memorial services were held Friday, December 14, 2007 at Pinkard Funeral Home with Kenneth Bentley officiating.
He is survived by his wife, Loretta Bridgmon Kinkead; children, Tracy Kinkead of Bear Creek, Jennifer Kinkead Marbutt of Bear Creek, Scott Bradley of Haleyville, and John Bradley of Haleyville; brothers, Loyd Kinkead and wife, Jovita, of Vichy, Mo., Freddie Kinkead and wife, Kathy, of Belle, Mo., Duane Kinkead, and wife, Carolyn McDaniels, of Alvin, Tex., Gary Kinkead and wife, Sharon, of Bland, Mo. and Denny Kinkead and wife, Tammi, of Belle; nine grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relative.
He was preceded in death by parents, Loyd Franklin and Lois Kinkead.
Pinkard Funeral Home of Haleyville assisted the family.
Robert Triplett

Robert Daniel Triplett, age 71, of Haleyville, died December 13, 2007 at his residence. He was born July 8, 1936 in Naples, Kentucky, and lived in Winston County for the past 35 years. He was retired from the U.S. Air Force after 20 years of service, and serving during the Vietnam War. He was a member of Living Water Assembly of God Church in Haleyville.
Funeral services were held December 15, 2007 at Pinkard Funeral Home in Haleyville with Gary Salters and Emmanuel Jackson officiating. Burial was in the Winston Memorial Gardens.
He is survived by his wife, Elsie Grimes Triplett; children, Steve and wife, Darlene, Triplett, Robbie and wife, Lisa, Triplett, and Tim Triplett; sisters, Sylvia McDermott, Molly Harns, Gracie Brown, Stella Slaughter; brothers, Troy Triplett and Carl Triplett; granddaughters, Crystal Triplett, Lacey Triplett, and Bethany Triplett; and great granddaughter, Ashlyn McCreless.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and three sisters.
Pinkard Funeral Home of Haleyville assisted the family.
Betty Smith

Betty J. Smith, age 68 of Red Bay, died December 13, 2007 at her residence. She was born August 11, 1939 in Florence, Kansas to Willard John and Betty Maxin Sharp Severns, She was a homemaker.
Funeral services were held December 15, 2007 at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel in Red Bay with Bro. Gene Cooley officiating. Burial was in the Red Bay City Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Charles R. Smith of Red Bay; daughter, Darcie Renee Smith of Red Bay; son, Russell D. Smith of Rancho Cucamonga, Cal.; sisters, Beverly Pierson of Reseda, Cal. and Donna Ogle of Ledbetter, Ky.; and six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and sister, Debra Boutwell.
Deaton Funeral Home in Red Bay assisted the family.
William King

William Josh King, age 73, of Russellville, died December 14, 2007 at his residence.
Funeral services were held December 18, 2007 at Spry Memorial Chapel in Russellville with Pastor Denvil Keele officiating the service. Burial was in the Knights of Pythias Cemetery.
He is survived by sons, Terry, Ray and Timmy King; brothers, Charles Jr., Billy G. and Joe King; sisters, Earline James, Evelyn Eddy and Faye Gentry; eight grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.
Spry Memorial Chapel of Russellville assisted the family.
Jerry Bratcher

Jerry Wayne Bratcher, age 43, of Tuscumbia, died December 14, 2007 at his residence.
Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m., Dec. 19 at Spry Memorial Chapel. The 2 p.m. funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel with burial to follow in Bethlehem Cemetery.
Pallbearers for the service include James Riggs, Stacy Shankles, Andy Johnson, Shane Anderson, Mark Vandiver, Paul Sanderson, Ric Cole, and Jeremy Lee. John Slay was an honorary pallbearer.
He is survived by children, Blake Elis Bratcher, and Bethany Louise Bratcher; father, Gerry Bratcher; mother, Arnell Bratcher; brother, Danny Bratcher; sisters, Sandy Sanderson and Shirley Herrero; nieces and nephews, Mandy Slay, Christina Watson, Shane Sanderson, Hannah Bratcher; great nieces and nephews, Nathaniel Merhoff, Caitlynn Merhoff, Skylar Merhoff, and Eliijah Cole.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
Spry Memorial Chapel in Russellville assisted the family.
Dorothy Pounders

Dorothy Evelyn Pounders, age 77, of Russellville, died December 15, 2007.
She is survived by brother, Royce Oneal Pounders and wife, Mary Jo; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Marnie and Mary Cravin Pounders; brother, Edward Pounders; and sister, Dell Pounders.
Spry Memorial Chapel of Russellville assisted the family.
Terry Ray Uptain

Terry Ray Uptain, 74, of Montgomery, died Sunday, Dec. 16 at Jackson Hospital.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 20 at Bethsadia Missionary Baptist Cemetery with Rev. Stanley Hargett officiating.
Burial will follow at Bethsadia Missionary Baptist Cemetery.
Visitation will be held prior to the funeral service at the church.
He was born Aug. 23, 1933 in Phil Campbell to N. Wiley and Lillie Mae Uptain. He was a Baptist by faith and member of the Blue Water Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father, N. Wiley Uptain and by daughters Thressa and Vanessa Uptain and Nancy Shepler.
He is survived by his mother, Lillie Mae Uptain, of Florence; daughters, Beverly Deems (Mike), of Cataula, Ga., Carmela Uptain, of Friendship, Wisc., Pamela Lanford (Steve) of Toney, Sandy Lamb, of Pensacola; son, Paul Uptain, of Cataula; sister, Venelle Landers Smith (Doug), of Jacksonville; 12 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and numerous other family members and friends.
