Varsity basketball schedule

Phil Campbell sweeps Hackleburg
PHIL CAMPBELL – The Phil Campbell varsity teams swept the visiting Hackleburg Panthers Monday night.
Jessica Taylor had a career night with 27 points and 21 rebounds to lead the Phil Campbell varsity girls to a 57-49 win over the Lady Panthers.
Chasity Morgan finished with 19 points, while Alissa Smith (7) and Shannon Gasaway (4) also scored for Phil Campbell (3-1).
Cindy Kivette was the leading scorer for Hackleburg with 12 points.
The Phil Campbell varsity boys scored at least 20 points in three quarters and had nine different players score as they defeated Hackleburg 80-43.
Caleb Thompson led Phil Campbell with 18 points, while Korey Pounders added 17. Tanner Maddox (14) and Jonathan Dill (10) also finished in double figures. Adam Mitchell (5), Tate Canida (5), Josh Waid (4), Lawrence Butts (3) and Pablo Santiago (2) also scored for the Bobcats, who improved to 2-2 this season.
Red Bay defeats Belgreen
The Red Bay varsity girls picked up their first win this season with a 59-49 win over Belgreen Nov. 23 in the Russellville Thanksgiving Tournament.
The Lady Tigers used a 17-10 run in the third quarter to break open a close game.
Chelsey McWilliams led Belgreen with 20 points, and Brittany Scott added 15.
Belgreen's Martha Billingham scored 17 points, and Deborah Billingham (13) and Amber Smith (11) also finished in double figures.

Resort announces benefit tourney
December 6
FLORENCE – The first annual Doublehead Resort Sporting Clay Benefit will be held Friday, December 6 at the resort's multi-station sporting clay course. The five-member teams will enjoy a day of shooting that will also include breakfast, lunch, shooter's package and prizes. The entry fee is $500 per team, and all proceeds will benefit the Northwest Alabama Community Health Association. Millenium Run
December 31
The annual Millenium Run 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run will be held Monday, December 31.
