Show your spirit and join a parade

By Staff
Christmas is just around the corner and the parades have already been scheduled.
While Franklin County is known for its parades, Lisa Stockton said that she would like to see more floats in local parades.
No parade is complete without a good band, candy being tossed out and, of course, the beautiful floats.
Over the last few years, there have been fewer floats in our parades.
For whatever reason, floats seem to have been replaced with cars and trailers hauling groups and organizations.
Stockton asked that local residents consider bringing the floats back to Franklin County and we have to agree. There is nothing more exciting than to see a parade filled with different and unique floats, one after another.
We ask that every youth group, club or organization craft a float with a Christmas theme for this year's parade. First, second and third place prizes are given for the best floats so your organization might walk away with a little reward and the sense of knowing that your have helped make your local Christmas parade fun and exciting for all who attended.
