Tommy Hester

Tommy Hester, age 65, of Nashville, Tenn., died November 6, 2007 in Greenbriar, Tenn. he was born June 13, 1942 in Red Bay to James Aubrey and Flora Woodham Hester. He was an employee of Hester Batteries and was a member of Christ Community Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Edna Hester, and a brother, John Robert Hester.
Funeral services were held November 11, 2007 at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel in Red Bay with Curtis Hester and David Hester officiating the service. Burial was in the Old Burleson cemetery.
He is survived by wife, Janie Hester of Nashville; sisters, Clara Maupin and husband, James, of College Grove, Tenn.; and Marlene Cunningham of Tampa, Fla.; brothers, Jams Hester and wife, Ilene, of Nashville, Roy Hester of Red Bay, and Curtis Hester and wife, Hazel, of Greenbriar; step children, Cindy, Frankie and Robbie; and many nieces and nephews.
Nephews and cousins served as the pallbearers for the service.
Deaton Funeral Home of Red Bay assisted the family.
Mary Morgan

Mary Elizabeth Morgan, age 78 of Russellville, died Tuesday, November 6, 2007 at her residence. She was born in St. Albany, New York August 12, 1929, and was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Russellville and received home prayers and took communion regularly. She was the past president of the Toast Mistresses International in Tachikawa, Japan.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, November 17,2 007 at 10 a.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home in Russellville with Father Tom Woods and daughter Deborah Morgan Griffin officiating. Her ashes will be buried by the family in the private family cemetery in Coker, Ala. on Sunday.
She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Morgan Griffin and husband, Edward Dee, of Tuscumbia; grandchildren, Edward Dee Griffin, II, Christopher Robin Griffin, Melissa Leigh Griffin, Larry Outlaw, and Liz Griffin; a special granddaughter, Cynthia Marie Griffin, her caregiver for years; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by husband, L.C. "Tusky" Morgan; daughter, Elizabeth Ann Outlaw, and infant grandson; sisters, Elivra Tomich, Muriel Carbery; brothers, Thomas Carbery and Robert Carbery.
Special Thanks to Wiregrass Hospice, Ellen Finnegan, Gini Uhl, and her friends at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marietta, Ga. and Father Tom Woods.

Clarice Oswalt
November 13, 2007
Clarice M. Oswalt, age 87, of Russellville, died Tuesday, November 13, 2007 at Russellville Health Care. She was a lifelong resident of Franklin County and a member of Tharptown Baptist Church in Russellville.
Funeral services were held Thursday, November 15, 2007 at Pinkard Funeral Home in Russellville with Eddie Wix and Chip Martin officiating. Burial was in the Tharptwon Cemetery.
She is survived by daughters, Shirley Oswalt Sparks and husband, Billy, of Russellville. Gaynell Oswalt Green of Muscle Shoals, and Sandra Oswalt Lane and husband, Greg, of Russellville; sisters, Adle McCollum Crews, and Dorothy McCollum Fitts, both of Russellville; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; on great-great grandchild; a number of nieces, nephews and many, many friends.
Pallbearers included Jeremy Lane, Jeff Green, Addison Isom, Stefan Sparks, Will Lane and Philip Sparks.
She is preceded in death by husband, Travis O. Oswalt; parents, Earnest and Myrtle McCollum; and grandson, Jason Gregory Lane.
The family would also like to extend many thanks to all of the special friends and neighbors and also to the Angels of Mercy at Russellville Health Care who took such loving care of our loved one.

WE Batchelor
November 13, 2007
WE Batchelor, age 69, of Haleyville, died November 13, 2007 at ECM Hospital. He was the owner of Batchelor's Land Surveying, a member of New Prospect Baptist Church, where he was a Deacon for 31 years and Sunday School Superintendent for 29 years and served in the U.S. Army.
Funeral services were held November 15, 2007 at New Prospect Baptist Church in Haleyville with Bro. Ron Horton officiating. Burial was in the Liberty Grove Cemetery in Ashridge Community.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Jean Crittenden Batchelor; daughters, Gena Lindsey and husband, Tim, of Haleyville, Karen McMillan and husband, Tom, of Chelsea, Martha Houghteling and husband, Mark, of Keller, Tex., Krista Denard of Jasper; sister, Eulene Tidwell and husband, Jimmy, of Nauvoo; brothers, Sammy Batchelor and wife, Sandra, of Haleyville, and Roger Batchelor and wife, Linda, of Sulligent; grandchildren, Joe Lindsey, Bart Lindsey, Kenny Lindsey, Jordan McMillan, Andy McMillan, Meribeth Malloy, Allie Malloy, John Matthew Houghteling, Anna Houghteling, Adam Denard, and Rachel Denard; great-grandchildren, John Taylor Lindsey and Jessie Lindsey.

Albert Stults, age 78, of Haleyville, died Thursday, Nov. 8, 2007. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Haleyville
Funeral services were held November 9, 2007 at Pinkard Funeral Home in Haleyville with Jerry Pounders and Charles Medlock. Burial was in the New Hope Cemetery.
He is survived by wife, Dottie Stults of Haleyville; children, Larry Stults of Haleyville, Debbie Easton and husband, Allan, of Rockford, Ill., Barbara Barber of Haleyville; brothers, Ernest Stults of Winnebago, Ill., William L.V. Stults of Haleyville; sister, Lorene Ward of Haleyville; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by parents, J.A. and Mae Stults; brothers, L.V. Stults, Ray Stults, and John Stults, and sisters, Rudell Ward, Sara June Cockrell and Betty Stults.

Pauline Youngblood
November 7, 2007
Pauline Wilson Youngblood, age 79, of Haleyville died November 7, 2007 at Lakeland Community Hospital. She was a native of Winston County and a member of Open Door Baptist Church in Haleyville.
Funeral services were held Friday, November 9, 2007 at Pinkard Funeral Home with Joe Spiller officiating. Burial was in the Winston Memorial Cemetery.
She was survived by sons, Dennis R. Wiley of Haleyville, and Terry A. Wiley of Anniston; stepchildren, Sarah Southern of Haleyville, Judy Farish of Decatur, and Jayon Hesse of Florida; brothers, Rufus W. Wilson of Texas, and Billie R. Wilson of Tennessee; sisters, M. Lucille Wilson Bishop of Michigan; Johnnie E. Wilson Veal Haleyville; and Doris J. Wilson Little of Haleyville; three grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by husband, Robert W. Youngblood; parents, John Wesley and Mattie Wilson; brother, Leroy Wilson; and sisters, Lacy H. Wilson and Hazel M.Wilson Garrard.
