The members of Brownie Troop No. 227 will have their pinning ceremony tomorrow night to welcome new members of the Troop into the world of Girl Scouts.
The event will be held at First Baptist Church in Russellville beginning at 6 p.m.
In addition to the upcoming pinning ceremony, the girls will be busy in November and December with holiday preparation.
Troop Leader Mitzi McNutt said the girls will be going to the Faith Mission Outreach and bag canned goods in November as a community service project for Thanksgiving.
For Christmas, the troop will be sending Christmas cards to troops in Iraq and baking muffins for area nursing homes.
"We are going to go caroling to the area nursing homes this year," McNutt said.
She added that while the girls are busy this holiday season, the troop will be into world-famous cookie mode in January.
"We have already had our leader training for cookie season this year," McNutt said. "We are all ready to start selling cookies in January."
Girl Scout Cookies are the only fundraiser allowed for the troop, McNutt said stressing the importance of cookie sales for the girls.
