Montgomery ties school records
Josh Montgomery, a senior placekicker for Russellville High School, has moved into 10th place on the Alabama High School Athletic Association's all-time record list for extra points.
He was 5-of-5 for PATs in the Golden Tigers' 35-13 win over Erwin the first round of the playoffs Friday night.
Montgomery, who is 35-of-37 this season on PATs, now has 129 extra points in his career, which ties former Russellville kicker Elliot Bishop for the school record. He also tied Bishop for the school record of extra points made in a career with 162 and career field goals with 11.

Youth basketball registration
November 17
The Russellville Parks and Recreation department is holding registration for youth basketball until Nov. 17. The progra is for boys and girls ages 6-18 years old, and the age control date is September 1, 2007. Cost is $35 per player, or $60 fwo players. The late registration deadline is November 19-24, with a $5 late fee. For more information, contact the department at 332-8770.
Dam-Bridge Run
November 17
FLORENCE – The third annual Dam-Bridge Run 10K race will be held Saturday, November 17 beginning at 8 a.m. at the Marriott Shoals Conference Center. The certified course crosses the Tennessee River on the historic Wilson Dam, and returns across the Patton Island Bridge. Each river crossing is approximately 0.8 miles. Registration price is $20.
