    Mildred Kuykendall

    Mrs. Mildred Kuykendall, 85, of Russellville, died Saturday, Oct. 20, 2007 at Red Bay Hospital.
    Mrs. Kuykendall was a native of Franklin County and a member of Cedar Creek Baptist Church.
    Funeral services were held Oct. 23 at Cedar Creek Baptist Church with burial in the adjoining cemetery. Bro. Leaborn McCarley and Bro. Raymond Martin officiated.
    Survivors include her husband, Owen Kuykendall, of Russellville; son Jerry Kuykendall and wife Connie, of Medina, Ohio; grandchildren, Daniel Kuykendall, Carrie Wildman and husband Matt, and great-grandchild, Jordan Wildman; son, Phillip Kuykendall and wife, Robin, of Cleveland, Ohio and grandchild, Kara Kuykendall; sisters, Lora Mavis Jarnigan, of Tuscumbia and Easter Lyle of Red Bay.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Beulah Richardson; sisters, Ora B. Taylor and Lois Taylor.
    Lorraine Partain Lauderdale
    October 19, 2007
    Graveside services for Mrs. Lorraine Lauderdale, 87, of Haleyville were held Oct. 22 at Winston Memorial Cemetery in Haleyville. Brother Glen Posey officiated.
    Mrs. Lauderdale was born April 5, 1920 in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee and passed away October 19, 2007 at the Care Center of Opelika. She was a member of the Ninth Avenue Church of Christ in Haleyville.
    She was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, Retired Major Robert S. Lauderdale, USAF.
    Survivors include two sons, Robert Pelzy Lauderdale and his wife, Linda, of Niceville, Fla., Bernard L. Lauderdale and his wife, Mary, of Gold Hill; three grandchildren, Rebecca Beebe and her husband, Curtis, of Dade City, Fla., Robert (Lelia) of Richardson, Texas, Daniel Lauderdale and his wife, Cindi, of Farmville, N.C. and six great-grandsons, Hunter, Jackson and Stewart Beebe, Cyrus Lauderdale, Daniel and Crossman Lauderdale.
    Flossie Victoria McNutt
    October 21, 2007
    Flossie Victoria McNutt passed away Oct. 21 at the age of 90 at her home in Haleyville. She was a lifelong resident of Winston County, a retired school teacher – having taught for 44 years – and a member of Bethel No. 2 Baptist Church.
    Funeral services were held Oct. 23 at Pinkard Funeral Home with Mark Kimbrell officiating. Burial followed in Winston Cemetery.
    She is survived by her children, Sandra (Larry) Burleson; Don (Charlotte) McNutt and Frank McNutt; sisters, Juanita Sparks, Ostella Green and Monteen (James) Hardin; grandchildren, Brad (Mandy) McNutt, Todd (Kelsy) McNutt, Leigh (Brandon) Rhodes; two great-grandchildren, Reece McNutt and Cooper McNutt.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis McNutt and parents, Noah and Ethel Davis.
    Jessie Lee Pharr
    October 17, 2007
    Jessie Lee Pharr, 78, of Pomona Park, Fla., passed away Oct. 17, 2007 at Hospice Haven in Palatka, Fla. She was born Nov. 15, 1928 in Itawamba County, Miss. to Orville Graydon and Vera Lee Jackson Hargett. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Kenosha, Wis. while living there.
    After raising six children in Kenosha, her husband retired from American motors and they moved to Hodges, then to Pomona Park.
    She was a wonderful example of a praying Christian woman who loved her family, church and friends. She attended Church of God in Crescent City, Fla.
    She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Herbert H. Pharr, who passed away Oct. 25, 2006 and a granddaughter, Rochelle Petree.
    Funeral service were held Oct. 23 at Pilot Hill Missionary Baptist Church with Jimmy Lucas officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
    Survivors include six children, Kerry (Lanita) Pharr, of Burns, Tenn., Louie Pharr, of New York City, Patricia (David) Petree and Marty (Jeff) Ludwig, of Kenosha, Jerry Pharr, of Florida and Janet (Ben) DeBoef, of Plainfield, Ill.; grandchildren, Christy Campbell, Jennifer Ludwig, Steve Ludwig, Jacob Pharr, Alan Pharr, Taylor DeBoef and Kylie DeBoef; great-grandchild, Cambryn Berry; brothers, Gene Hargett of Tremont, Miss. and Glen (Annette) Hargett of Jackson, Miss.
    Howard Edwin Kimbrough

    Howard Edwin Kimbrough, 65, of Russellville, passed away Oct. 21 at his home.
    Mr. Kimbrough lived most of his life in Franklin County. He was a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon, music minister and Sunday school teacher. He was a manager for Sibley Oil Company.
    Funeral services will be held Oct. 24 at 11 a.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home in Russellville. Officiating will be Tim Smith, Phil Kimbrough Wayne Wilson and Billy Wilson.
    Burial will follow in Franklin Memory Gardens.
    Survivors include his wife, Doris Kimbrough; children, Darryl (Ronda) Kimbrough, of Northport, Dee Dee (Tim) Smith, of Russellville, Darin (Lisa) Kimbrough, of Leeds; parents, Howard and Gladys Kimbrough of Russellville; brothers, Benny (Sue) Kimbrough, of Moulton, Kenneth (Sandra) Kimbrough, of Phil Campbell; sisters, Doris (Joe) Prince, of Russellville, Judy (Troy) Pounders, of Moulton; grandchildren, Britni Smith, Aaron Kimbrough, Joshua Smith, Grace Smith, Tyler Kimbrough, Tatum Kimbrough, Brooke Allen, Buddy Allen and several nieces and nephews.
    Pallbearers will be Joshua Smith, Aaron Kimbrough, Tim Prince, Terry Prince, Doug Kimbrough and Anthony Mayberry.
    Honorary bearers will be Zach Henson, Tyler Kimbrough and Buddy Allen.
    In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Russellville First Free Will Baptist Life Center.
    Minnie Lee Mills Gillette

    Minnie Lee Mills Gillette, 73, of Brentwood, Tenn, passed away Oct. 21, 2007 at her home.
    She was born March 27, 1934 in Red Bay to William O. and Alice N. Blanton Mills. She was a seamstress and a member of the Church of God.
    Funeral services were held Oct. 23 at Deaton Funeral Home in Red Bay with Rev. Paul Byrd officiating.
    Burial followed in the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Golden, Miss.
    Survivors include sons, Johnny Gillette, of Rogersville and Roger and Richard Gillette, both of Brentwood; daughter, Stephanie (Carl) Alexander, of Brentwood; brother, W.T. Mills, of Zion, Ill.; sisters, Inez Prestage, of Madison, Jeanette Orrick and Delores Daily, both of Red Bay and Mary Boozer, of Smithville, Miss; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
    Delmer Murphree
    October 21, 2007
    Delmer Murphree, 82, of Vina passed away Oct. 21 at Red Bay Hospital.
    He was born Sept. 1, 1925 in Itawamba County, Miss to Clifford B. and Tula Wilson Murphree. He was a member of the Red Bay Masonic Lodge.
    He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during World War II with the Escort Carrier Force U.S. Pacific Fleet. He served on the U.S.S. Markin Island (CVE-93) Flagship, the first U.S. Escort Carrier to anchor in Japanese home waters.
    Funeral services will be held today, Oct. 24, at Deaton Funeral Home in Red Bay at 1 p.m. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery in Fulton, Miss.
    Survivors include his wife, Roberta Murphree, of the Care Center of Red Bay; special sister, Nellie Reeves, of Birmingham; special brother, Jack (Earnestine) Murphree of Fulton, Miss; brothers, Morris Murphree and Bethay Murphree, both of Fulton, Miss.; several nieces and nephews; three step-children and several step-grandchildren.
    Pallbearers will be the members of the Red Bay Masonic Lodge.
