The Golden Tigers jumped out to a 7-0 lead over the visiting Indians after Jake Ward found John Alex Foster for a 12-yard touchdown in the first quarter, but Colbert County took a 14-7 lead with two interception returns for touchdowns in the second quarter. Ward tossed another touchdown pass to put Russellville ahead 15-14 with 1:10 left until halftime, but the Indians answered with a 54-yard rushing touchdown to take a 20-15 halftime lead. Colbert County returned a fumble for a touchdown and added a 32-yard rushing score to go ahead 32-15 in the third quarter. The Golden Tigers added a late touchdown and mounted a comeback, but Colbert County intercepted Ward in the end zone with 2:44 remaining in the game to seal the win. The Russellville Midde School squad lost to Colbert County 20-6, with the lone Golden Tigers' score coming from an 18-yard TD pass from Blake Hyde to Grant Hagedorn.
