Speake beats Vina 35-0

SPEAKE – The Vina defense kept the game close, but Speake used a powerful rushing attack to win 35-0 in Class 1A, Region 8 action Friday night.
Speake's Dez Polk scored three touchdowns, including a 79-yard punt return in the first quarter, a 10-yard run in the third and a 50-yard breakaway in the fourth.
Tyler Gillespie and Zack Taylor also scored rushing touchdowns for the Bobcats.
The Vina (2-4, 1-3) defense was led by senior Randy Barnes, who recovered a Speake fumble, and junior Keith Hester, who had a sack.
