    William Hoyt Keeton, Sr.

    William Hoyt Keeton, Sr., age 73, of Red Bay, died September 18, 2007 at Southern Magnolia Estates in Golden, Miss. He was born Nov. 22, 1933 in Alabama to H.L. and Lola Bostick. He was president of Keeton Oil Company and Southern Grocers, Inc. for 46 years. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and United Methodist Men's Club, and a member of the Red Bay Lion's Club, where he was the recipient of the Melvin ones Award. He was a charter member of the Red Bay Athletic Boosters Club and was inducted into the Franklin county Sports Hall of Fame. The Red Bay Walking Trail was named in his honor, and hew as the recipient of Chamber of Commerce Hall of Fame in 2004. He was a charter member of Redmont Country Club.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, and his father and mother-in-law, Braxton and Louise Sanford.
    Funeral Services were held Sept. 20, 2007 at the First United Methodist Church in Red Bay with Rev. Dallas Culver and Dr. Dwayne McDuff officiating. Burial was in the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
    He is survived by wife of 56 years, Peggy Keeton of Red Bay; daughters, Kathy Hale and husband, Sammy, and Lisa Davis and husband, Brooks, of Red Bay; sons, William Hoyt and wife, Suzy, of Golden, Miss., and Hal Keeton and wife, Shala, of Red Bay; sisters, Jean Lambert Gresham of Athens, and Sarah Cobb of Prattville; brother, Herman A. Keeton of Red Bay; grandchildren, Brooke Carnes of Golden, Brock Keeton, Kyle Sparks, Tyler Davis, Darby Davis, Holly Keeton and Casey Keeton, all of Red Bay., and Karla Koger of Belmont, Miss.; step grandchildren, T.J. Pruitt and Dakota Pruitt, both of Golden, Miss. and five great grandchildren.
    Pallbearers for the service included Jim Lovette, Bill Nabers, Bobby Nelson, Carlos Creekmore, Johnny Armstrong and Keith Kennedy. Honorary pallbearers for the service included Ned Davis, Jerry Frame, John Daniel, David Tiffin, Paul Prestage, and Rabon Stockton.
    In lieu of flowers, please make memorials to First United Methodist Church in Red Bay.

    Richard Donald Lovell, Jr., age 53, of Russellville, died September 22, 2007 at his residence. He was a native of Detroit, Mich., but had lived in this area for the past 18 months.
    He is survived by his wife, Christine M. Lovell of Russellville; daughter, Carolyn Holley of Tupelo, Miss.; mother, Virginia Brown; step-father, Floyd Brown, both of Atlanta, Ga.; brothers, Steve Brown of Spruce Pine, and Edward Lovell of Petersburg, Mich.; sisters, Dawn McNamara of San Antonio, Tex., Dana Schmidt of Ida, Mich., and Debra Racheter of North Fork, Tex.; grandchildren, Donald Light and Shianne Calaminey, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard D. Lovell, Sr. A Memorial service will be announced later. Pinkard Funeral Home of Russellville assisted the family.

    Mildred Mae Scott, age 68, of Golden, Miss., died September 21, 2007 at his residence. She was born May 1, 2939 in Alabama to Dink and Janie Holland Parker, and was a homemaker and a seamstress. She was a member of Pineville Baptist Church and was a retired from Wrangler. She was proceed in death by her husband, Z.L. Scott and two sisters and her parents.
    Funeral services were held Sunday, Sept. 23, 2007 at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel in Red Bay with Bro. J.C. Blackburn and Bro. Bob O'Neal officiating. Burial was in the Mt. Zion Cemetery.
    She is survived by children, Pat Blackburn and husband, Kyle, of Vina, Steve Scott, Anita Stephen and husband, Jeff, Ronald Scott and wife, Tunya, Terry Scott and wife, Sherry, Reda Waddle and husband, Mike, and Shirley Ozbirn and husband, Jack, all of Golden, Miss. and Nella Lawler and husband, Dale, of Hodges, 20 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, special caregiver, Sandra Lucas of golden, brothers, Eldon Parker and wife, Barbara, of Golden, Elbert Parker and wife, Eloise, of Vina, William Parker of Zion, Ill and Billy Wayne Parker and wife, Vicki, of Joliet, Ill; sisters, Roberta Murphree and husband, Delmer, of Vina and Gerthrue Massey of Tishomingo, Miss.
    Pallbearers for the service included Jerry Blackburn, Gary Blackburn, Ricky Scott, Josh Lawler, Kerry Lawler, Jonathan Scott, Jake Waddle, Tyler Young, Barry Kelton, and Cody Scott. Honorary pallbearers included Landon Scott, Jacob Scott, Kyler Blackburn, Cayden Lawler, Cai Lawler, and Cooper Waddle.

    Ruthie Marie Ergle, age 79, of Russellville, died September 22, 2007. She was a member of Oak Grove Freewill Baptist Church.
    Funeral services were held September 23, 2007 at Oak Grove Freewill Baptist Church with Bro. T.L. Pierce officiating. Burial was in the Oak Grove Cemetery.
    She is survived by her son, James Rundel Ergle, and wife, LInda Gail of Russellville; daughter, Wanda Karwacki and husband, Joe, of Phil Campbell; sisters, Irene Hallman of Russellville, and Fannie Clark of Jasper; grandchildren, Derek Ergle and wife, Kim, Shane Ergle, Lekita Rice and husband, Eric, Penelope Austin and husband, Eddie, and great-grandchildren, Stephen May, Scott May, Daniel Wilkinson, Lateashea Wilkinson, and Zack Wilkinson.
    She was preceded in death by husband, James Cleston Ergle, granddaughter, Stephanie Heather May; parents, James and Tilda Cothrum; sisters, Etta Harbin, Effie Kinard, Velma Cummings, and brothers, Bruce Cothrum, Henry Cothrum, and Willie Cothrum.

    Funeral services were held on Sunday, September 23, 2007 at the Spry Memorial Chapel with Bro. Douglas Wells officiating. Burial was in the Bonds Cemetery.
    She is survived by her sister, Beatrice Hendrix, and a host of nieces and nephews.
    She is preceded in death by her parents, Charley and Ethel Hendrix; brothers, Otto Hendrix, Clyde Hendrix, Berry Hendrix, and Carnie Hendrix; sisters, Lottie Massey and Mattie Hendrix.

    Graveside services were held September 22, 2007 in the Mt. Home Cemetery with Bro. Ric Chambless officiating.
    She is preceded in death by her parents, Herman O. Walton and Bertha May Gardner Walton; sister, Mary Goulsby; very special daughter-in-law, Debra Davis; nephew, William Jackson Davis; father of her children, Andrew Davis.
    She is survived by her husband, William Davis; sons, Michael Davis, and Terry Davis and wife, Evelyn; daughters, Lisa Davis and Sandy Davis; brothers, Larry Walton and Kenneth Walton; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

    Tilda "Seay" Pace, age 89, of Russellville died September 23, 2007. She was a member of CCF Church of Phil Campbell and a first generation United Daughter of the Confederacy.
    Funeral services were held September 25, 2007 at Oak Grove Freewill Baptist Church in Russellville with Bro. Curtis Taylor officiating. Burial will be in the East Franklin Cemetery.
    She was preceded in death by her first husband, Author Weeks; second husband, Robert Pace; daughter, Colleen Weeks; grandson, Daryl Gene Weeks; parents, Silas and Mary Alice Seay; and brothers, William Kinard, James B. Seay, General Forest Seay, and Oscar Lee Seay.
    She is survived by her children, Alton Weeks, Opal L. King, Alvis Weeks, and Theresa McCleese; sister-in-law, Ruby Bradford; eleven grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and numerous great-great grandchildren; four nephews and nine nieces.

    Cathern Bernice McCullar, age 75 of Haleyville, died September 22, 2007 at Lakeland Community Hospital. She was a member of the Waldrop Freewill Baptist Church.
    Funeral services were held September 24, 2007 at the Pinkard Funeral Home Chapel in Haleyville with Hugh Cavender officiating. Burial was in the Winston Memorial Cemetery in Haleyville.
    She is survived by husband, William McCullar of Haleyville; children Johnny McCullar and Marilyn McCullar, both of Haleyville; sisters, Martha Hovis and Laura Shipman, both of Ohio, and Jean Fulford of Haleyville; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
    She was preceded in death by daughter, Barbara McCullar Grice; parents, Wilbern and Vera Reynolds; brother, Wayne Reynolds; and sister, Trudy Shipman Henson.

    Hubert Ray, age 84, of Haleyville, died September 20, 2007 at Lakeland Community Hospital. He was a manager with Marshall Durbin for 29 years, and was also a member of First Baptist Church in Haleyville.
    Funeral services were held September 22, 2007 at Pinkard Funeral Home Chapel in Haleyville with Dr. Jim Cooley officiating. Burial was in the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery in Addison.
    He is survived by wife, Ruby Ray; son, Terry Ray and wife, Marie, of Carthage, Miss.; daughters, Sue Beech and husband, Gerald, of Corinth, Miss., Joette Jones and husband, Eddie, of Hampton, Ga., and Neina Middleton and husband, Laula, of Haleyville; sisters, Wynelle Wisner of Newnan, Ga. and Idell Carpenter of Fayetteville, Ga.; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

    William Garvin Baldy, age 88, of Double Springs, died September, 21, 2007at his residence. He was a lifelong resident of Winston County and a World War II veteran in the U.S. Army. He was a retired lineman for Alabama Power, and a member of Liberty Grove Missionary Baptist Church.
    Funeral services were held September 23, 2007 at Liberty Grove Baptist Church with Ronnie Marbutt officiating. Burial was in the Antioch Cemetery.
    He is survived by wife, Nora Baldy; children, Becky Hester and husband, Dale, of Red Bay, and Quin Hester and wife, Mavis, of Double Springs; grandchildren, Kim and Derek Ergle, Chris and Laura Hester, Ali Baldy, and Angela Baldy.
    He is preceded in death by grandson, Matthew Hester, and several brothers and sisters.

    Funeral services were held September 24, 2007 at Pinkard Funeral Home Chapel in Haleyville with Dr. Michael Lane officiating. Burial was in the Mt. Home Cemetery in Bear Creek.
    He is survived by his wife, Lorene Mann Cole; daughters, Darlene Young and husband, Vernon, of Bear Creek, and Deborah Jones and husband, Johnny, of Haleyville; sons, Earl Cole and wife, Reda, of Bear Creek, and Tony Cole and wife, Teresa, of Haleyville; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Artis Cole and wife, Evelyn of Mo.; and sisters, Grace Lawrence of Mo., Lily Mae McGuire and husband, Diddle, of Bear Creek, and Vickie Bailey and husband, George, of Haleyville; and a host of friends and relatives.
    He is preceded in death by father, S.Y. Cole; mother, Jessie Cole; step-mother, Roxy Cole; and sister, Betty Sue Cole.

    Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2007 at 1 p.m. in Kerby Funeral Home Chapel in Henagar, Ala. Burial will be in the Pisgah Cemetery in Pisgah, Ala.
    He is survived by parents, Donald and Georgia Gass of Pisgah; brother, Caleb Gass and wife, Karmen, of Pisgah; special friend, Corey Seahorn of Russellville; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

    Andrew Michael Cansler, age 20, of Russellville died September 23, 2007 due to injuries from a motorcycle accident.
    Andrew lived all his life in Franklin County and was a member of New Friendship Baptist Church. He was a 2005 graduate of Belgreen High School and a volunteer for the Belgreen Fire Department. He was employed at GUBMK Contractors and a member of Pipe Fitters # 760.
    Funeral services were held September 25, 2007 at Pinkard Funeral Home Chapel in Russellville with Loyd Ray Griffus officiating. Burial was in the Belgreen Cemetery.
    He is survived by his parents, Andy and Debbie Cansler of Russellville; birth mother, Jamie Smith of Sheffield; grandparents, Martha Winstead of Russellville, Donny and Brenda Cansler of Russellville, Betty Staggers of Tuscumbia, Jesse Allison and Michael Allison of Sheffield; sister, Molly Hayes; brother, Trey Smith, both of Sheffield; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and best friends.
