RHS volleyball falls to Colbert Heights

In volleyball action last night, the Russellville varsity and junior varsity teams hosted Colbert Heights.
The Lady Golden Tigers varsity (9-12) dropped their first two games en route to a 3-0 loss the Lady Wildcats in a best-of-five match.
The Russellville junior varsity won its first two games against Colbert Heights but lost the final three to lose 3-2 in a best-of-five match.
Both squads will have a much-needed weekend off to rest for a region tri-match at Decatur on Tuesday, Sept. 25. Both the varsity and junior varsity play matches at 4:30 and 5:30 p.m.
The match against the Lady Red Raiders will be the next-to-last opportunity for Russellville to improve its Region 8 standing, with only a match against Athens left on the region schedule.
The Lady Golden Tigers return home on Thursday, Oct. 4 to host Haleyville and Cherokee in a tri-match at 4 p.m. (varsity and junior varsity) and 5 p.m. (junior varsity only).
