Florida man nabbed in East Franklin

EAST FRANKLIN – A Florida fugitive was arrested on drug charges earlier this week.
Franklin County Sheriff Larry Plott said that Paul Everett Todd, 30, of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla. was arrested Wednesday night for supplying family members on County Road 89 in East Franklin community with marijuana.
Todd was charged with conspiracy of commit a controlled substance crime, giving a false name to law enforcement, and fugitive from justice after being taken into custody, Plott said.
"Todd gave a false name while trying to conceal that he was wanted in Florida for grand theft auto," Plott said.
Plott added that Todd brought the marijuana with him from Florida.
"We are holding him here [in Franklin County] on our charges," Plott said.
According to the Alabama Criminal Code, conspiracy to commit a controlled substance crime is a Class C felony, punishable with one year and one day to 10 years in prison upon conviction.
