PHIL CAMPBELL – The Bobcats kept plugging their way thought the playoffs yesterday evening but it took all seven innings in a 3-2 victory in game two with the Tanner Rattlers.
The bats would stay silent for both teams until late in the second inning when a run by the Rattlers brought the score to 1-0 and thanks to a pitching and defensive dual by both teams, neither was able to post any more points on the board until the seventh inning.
When the scoreboard finally rolled over to the seventh, the Lady Bobcats took their first and only lead of the game, but it came at the perfect time.
Melissa Russell drove in Tia Miller on a single to tie the game at one-all.
Alexis Maggerise followed Russell with a double that drove in two, putting the Bobcats up by a deuce.
Tanner would score one run in their final at-bat.
