Motorcycle ride to benefit Franklin CITY Program

By Staff

The Franklin County Community Intensive Treatment for Youth (CITY) Program will hold its fifth annual Kruzin' for Kids motorcycle ride May 12.
Program Coordinator Remona Roberson said the goal for this year's ride is to raise $5,000 for the CITY Program.
"Our advisory board uses the money for field trips, educational supplies and materials," she said. "In the past, some has been used to help students buy clothes, where they might have to go without."
The CITY Program is a non-residential youth center providing comprehensive academic, social, behavioral and basic employability skills training to the most high-risk youth in the community both female and male, 12 to 18 years of age, who are involved with the juvenile justice system.
Registration for the ride will begin at 10 a.m. at Jonathan's Steakhouse on Highway 43 in Russellville. The bikes will travel roughly an 80 mile course before returning to Jonathan's at 1 p.m.
Drawings for door prizes will begin at 1:30 p.m.
The registration fee is $20.
