Make your mom's big day special

By Staff
Jason Cannon, FCT Publisher
It seems like only yesterday that we were taking down our Christmas tress but it's almost April and Mother's Day is just around the corner.
This year, the Franklin County Times and the Willows Day Spa have teamed up to offer three lucky and deserving mothers, a day they'll never forget.
Maybe your mother worked two jobs to put you and your sibling through school.
Maybe your mom stood beside you when everyone else had given up on you.
Maybe your mom is just an awesome lady who loved you and your brothers and sisters with all her heart.
We want to read your stories about your mom.
We're asking the children of Franklin County, both young and old, to bring by a brief essay – about 250 words – telling us why their mom is the best mom around.
The essays will be judged by an independent party and one lucky grand prize winner will get a full day of pampering courtesy of the Franklin County Times and the Willows Day Spa in Tuscumbia.
The first place winner will receive a 90-minute hot stone massage, a European deep pore cleansing facial, a spa manicure and pedicure, color or highlights, a haircut and style, an Arbonne makeover and lunch.
That's 8 hours of pampering absolutely free.
Two runners up will receive a one-hour full body Swedish massage.
Men may enter their wife, girlfriend or friends on behalf of small children, but all entrants must be mothers.
Adults are also encouraged to enter their parents, although the mother's age will be of no consideration in the judging.
Entries may be mailed to the Franklin County Times, c/o My Mom, PO Box 1088, Russellville, AL 35653, faxed to 256-332-1883, emailed to jason.cannon@fct.wpengine.com or brought to our office at 14131 Highway 43 (next to Advance Auto).
We look forward to reading about all the super moms in Franklin County and hopefully making three local mom's Mother's Day one for the record books.
