By Staff
From staff reports
Mike Self has been promoted to sports and news editor of The Franklin County Times effective Wednesday, Sept.13.
Self has been with The Times for nearly six years, most recently serving as sports editor.
"Mike's talent for writing and layout shines on his sports pages in each edition," said Times Publisher, Jason Cannon. "He is a hard worker and an excellent writer. I am excited that he will carry that talent and dedication throughout our newspaper."
In his new role Self will manage The Times' stringer writers and news staff reporters. He will also oversee all news and sports content for The Times and it's special publications.
"I am glad to have the opportunity and will work hard to make sure we put out a high quality newspaper," Self said.
Self will continue to play a large role in The Times' coverage of local sports, while also covering local news items.
He can be reached at 332-1881. His extension is 30.
