Red Bay sweeps county track meet

RED BAY – Red Bay's varsity girls and boys track teams each placed first at Wednesday's Franklin County track meet.
Red Bay's girls finished with 255 total points, far ahead of second-place Phil Campbell's 106 points.
Belgreen came in third with 94 points, followed by Vina in fourth with 35.
Red Bay's boys won the meet with 212 points, followed by Phil Campbell in second place with 148 points.
Vina was third with 109 points, and Belgreen was fourth with 34.
Chelsey McWilliams led the way for Red Bay's girls, winning the 800 M run, 400 M dash, high jump and triple jump.
Kelli Sella placed first in both the 100 M high hurdles and the 300 M hurdles, and Tasha Petree won the discus throw and the shot put.
Red Bay also placed first in the 400 M and 1600 M relays.
Jessica Johnston finished second in both the 100 M and 200 M dash, and she placed third in the javelin throw.
Petree was second in the javelin throw, and Morgan Duncan finished third in the 400 M dash.
Kelly Sizemore and Faith Hutcheson finished second and third, respectively, in the 1600 M run, and Dena Deaton placed second in the 100 M high hurdles.
Gena Deaton finished third in the 300 M hurdles, and Kalie Sparks was third in the 800 M run.
Kelli Sella placed second in the long jump, and Brittany Scott was second in the discus throw. Whitney Sharp placed second in the triple jump.
Josh Coats led the way for Red Bay's boys, winning the long jump and the 400 M dash. Anthony Horton placed first in the triple jump, and Clint Garrison won the shot put.
Kirby Nelson finished first in the 100 M dash, and Cody Tucker won the 200 M dash.
Joe McKinney won the 110 M hurdles and the 300 M hurdles, and Red Bay won both the 400 M and 1600 M relays.
Garrison placed second in the javelin throw and third in the discus, and Pablo Makepeace was second in the long jump. Bradley Rhodes placed second in the shot put.
Morgan Stanfield finished second in the 400 M dash, followed by teammate Pablo Makepeace.
For Phil Campbell's girls, Ashley Jones helped lead the way to a second-place finish by winning the 1600 M run. Shelly Cooper won the javelin throw and placed second in the shot put and third in the discus.
The Lady Bobcats won the 3200 M relay, and Caitlin Stancil placed first in the long jump and third in the 100 M high hurdles. She was second in the 300 M hurdles.
Phil Campbell finished second in the 400 M relay.
On the boys side, Josh McCarley won the discus throw and Corey Odom placed first in the javelin throw to help the Bobcats finish second. James Eric England won the high jump, and Nick Raper placed second in the discus and third in the shot put.
Chase White was third in the 100 M dash and the long jump, and Phil Campbell's 1600 M relay team finished second.
Brad Hornsby placed second in the 300 M hurdles, and Cody Garrison was third in the javelin. Will Seal finished second in the 110 M hurdles, and Odom placed third in the high jump.
Katelin Barber led the way for Belgreen's girls, winning the 100 M dash and the 200 M dash. Lydia Devaney won the 3200 M run, and teammate Rosalyn Hargett finished second.
Mary Billingham placed third in the long jump, and Belgreen was third in the 3200 M and 400 M relay. Katy Britton was second in the 800 M run, and Martha Billingham placed third in the triple jump.
For Belgreen's boys, Alfredo Marquez won the 1600 M run. The Bulldogs finished second in the 3200 M relay and third in the 1600 M relay and 400 M relay.
For Vina's girls, LeShe McGee placed second in the 400 M dash and third in the shot put. Claudia Townsend finished third in the 100 M dash, and Vina's 1600 M relay team placed third.
Vina's boys won the 3200 M relay and also swept the top three spots in the 3200 M run. Gray finished first, Morgan McCarley came in second and Brent Townsend was third.
Gray also finished second in the 1600 M run.
Paul Wilkins placed second in the 100 M dash, and B.J. Beard finished third in the 1600 M run.
Cass White placed third in the 300 M hurdles, and Nash Creekmore was third in the 200 M run.
