Russellville High School's search to find a replacement for defensive coordinator Robert Jeter is nearing its conclusion, according to head football coach Perry Swindall.
Swindall said on Tuesday that final interviews are still being conducted but that he expects the position to be filled at next Thursday's school board meeting.
Jeter, who had served as Russellville's defensive coordinator throughout Swindall's entire eight-year tenure, accepted an offer last month to become defensive coordinator and assistant principal at Auburn High School.
During his time at Russellville, Jeter helped the Golden Tigers post three undefeated regular seasons and make three straight appearances (2002-04) in the Class 5A state championship game.
Jeter left to begin his job at Auburn High School last Monday, April 3.
