RHS golfers sink Pirates

The Russellville High School Golden Tiger golf team sunk the Winfield Pirates with a victory on the road Thursday at Pikeville Country Club in Hamilton.
The Russellville squad shot 169 in defeating the Pirates, who finished with a score of 205.
Sophomores John Seal and E.J. Fisher led the way for coach Phil Phillips' squad with a score of 40. Close behind were freshman Bret Fish with 44 and sophomore Brian Brown with a score of 45.
Senior Aaron Fisher shot 47 to close out the scoring for RHS.
Russellville continues to play on the road next week as they travel to take on Red Bay on Tuesday and then to to Muscle Shoals on Thursday.

Red Bay 173 Mantachie (Miss.) 179
Grant Fancher shot 37 on Thursday to lead the Tigers to victory at Redmont Country Club.
Casey Keeton followed with a 42, and Adam Mills shot 45 for Red Bay. Trey Bolding came in at 49.

Muscle Shoals 8 Hartselle 1
Drew Clark hit a three-run homer Thursday as the Trojans earned a key area win.
