    Rayburn Adams, Josie E. Borden, Leo Glendale Boyd, Ruth Lorene Bozeman, Lola Mae Colburn, Betty Coats Hester, Eloise Poss

    Rayburn &#8220Ray” Adams, age 68, of Phil Campbell, passed away Monday, March 20, 2006.
    Mr. Adams was born in Franklin County and was a member of Blue Springs Free Will Baptist Church in Phil Campbell. He was preceded in death by his father, Bill Adams.
    Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 22, 2006, at Blue Springs Free Will Baptist Church with Bro. John McCullar and Bro. Jerry Hester officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
    Pallbearers will be Mr. Adams' nephews.
    Mr. Adams is survived by his wife, Shirley Adams; two sons, Todd Adams of Phil Campbell, and Tony Adams and wife Teresa, of Mt. Vernon, Indiana; two daughters, Jennifer Baker and husband Joe, of Hackleburg, and Robin Coley and husband Larry, of Sheffield; his mother, Delphia Baker Adams of Phil Campbell; three sisters, Shirley Cummings and husband Paul, of Phil Campbell, Carolyn Vandiver and husband Tom, of Phil Campbell, and Debra Weeks and husband J.T., of Lexington; a brother, Ralph Adams and wife Flo, of Phil Campbell; three grandchildren, Savannah Adams, Gabe Adams and Amanda Senecal; two great-grandchildren, Samuel and Emma Senecal; and a host of nieces and nephews.
    Special thanks to the staff of UAB burn and trauma unit and Dr. Nash.

    Josie E. Borden, age 71, of Russellville, passed away Saturday, March 18, 2006.
    Mrs. Borden was born in Itawamba County, Mississippi, to Charlie and Zady King Carter. She was a lifelong resident of Franklin County. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Vivian Winchester; and three brothers, Vernon Carter, J.R. Carter and Marlin Carter.
    Funeral services were held on Tuesday, March 21, 2006, at Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Roger Bonds officiating. Interment was in Dempsey Cemetery.
    Mrs. Borden is survived by her daughter, Patsy Storm and husband John, of Centreville; two sons, Tifford Borden and wife Sarah, of Spruce Pine, and Dale Borden and wife Donna, of Russellville; a sister, Francis Martha Frick of Spruce Pine; two brothers, John Willard Carter and wife Leola, of Tuscumbia, and Roger E. Carter and wife Wava, of Russellville; three grandchildren, Jeffery Kennedy and wife Amy, of Holly Pond, Joey Kennedy and wife Brandie, of Phil Campbell, and Christopher Borden of Birmingham; and four great-grandchildren, Kaylen Kennedy, Chase Kennedy, Alaina Kennedy and Bradley Kennedy.
    Akins Funeral Home assisted the family.
    Leo Glendale Boyd, age 77, of Muscle Shoals, passed away Thursday, March 16, 2006, at his son's residence in Atlanta.
    Mr. Boyd was born April 22, 1928, in Franklin County to Hosea and Henritta Hagood Boyd. He was an employee of Reynolds Aluminum for 35 years and was a Baptist.
    Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. on Monday, March 20, 2006, at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel in Red Bay with Bro. Robert Isaacs officiating. Interment was in Halltown Cemetery.
    Mr. Boyd is survived by two sons, Ronald Boyd and wife Sharon, of Tuscumbia, and Stephen Boyd of Atlanta; a sister, Betty Davis of Winthrop Harbor, Illinois; three grandchildren, Brandi Boyd of Gadsden, Jill Boyd of Gadsden, and Chasity Boyd of Tuscumbia; and three great-grandchildren.
    Deaton Funeral Home assisted the family.
    Ruth Lorene Bozeman, age 72, of Russellville, passed away Monday, March 20, 2006.
    Mrs. Bozeman had a big heart. She loved her family and loved to spoil her grandchildren. She also loved to quilt and garden. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Donald Ray Bozeman and Curtis Porter; her parents, Hubert and Mary Walker Smith; and a sister, Edna Sanders.
    Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 22, 2006, at Spry Memorial Chapel with Bro. Dennis Steward officiating. Interment will be in Knights of Pythias Cemetery.
    Pallbearers will be Jamey Prince, Wyman Pounders, Tyler Bunt, Tim Smith, Seth Gerstman and Darrell Fuller. Honorary bearers will be J.R. Glasgow, H.B. Steward and Robin Weaver.
    Mrs. Bozeman is survived by two daughters, Mary &#8220Jodie” Johnson of Russellville, and Vicki Steward and husband Dennis, of Russellville; a step-daughter, Gail Bozeman Weaver and husband Robin, of Lamar, South Carolina; a sister, Bernice McKinney of Russellville; two brothers, Harold Smith of Rock Island, Illinois, and Johnny Smith of Russellville; seven grandchildren, Tracy Prince and husband James, Christy Borden, Misty Steward, Johnna Gerstman and husband Seth, Rebekah Steward, Cody Weaver and LeeAnn Weaver; five great-grandchildren, Landon Gerstman, Makayla Prince, Breanna Prince, Tyler Bunt and Malia Bunt; and several nieces and nephews.
    Spry Memorial Chapel assisted the family.
    Lola Mae Colburn, age 66, of Russellville, passed away Friday, March 17, 2006.
    Mrs. Colburn was a loving mother and grandmother. She loved and cared for everyone, especially her family. She was a member of Charity Gospel. She was preceded in death by her parents, Will and Elizabeth Caldwell.
    Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Monday, March 20, 2006, at Spry Memorial Chapel with Bro. Denvil Keele officiating. Interment was in Franklin Memory Gardens.
    Pallbearers were Mike Rice, Andy Kimbrough, Daniel Colburn, Paul Preston, Eric Hines and Harold Hines.
    Mrs. Colburn is survived by two sons, Vernon &#8220Pete” Colburn and wife Fertricia, and Roland &#8220Chigger” Colburn and wife Peggy; a brother, Leonard Caldwell; one granddaughter, Whitney; four grandsons, Lucas, Daniel, Andy and Mike; and several nieces, nephews and friends.
    The family extends a special thanks to Dr. Santos and the staff at Terrace Manor Nursing Home.

    Betty Coats Hester, age 69, of Red Bay, passed away Thursday, March 16, 2006, at Helen Keller Hospital.
    Mrs. Hester was born February 9, 1937, in Franklin County to Obe and Mattie Bonds Coats. She was a seamstress with Blue Bell for 30 years. She accepted Christ as her Savior on Saturday, March 11, 2006. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Glendall Hester; an infant daughter, Patricia Coats; her parents; and two brothers and five sisters.
    Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 19, 2006, at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Mark McCraney and Bro. David Corum officiating. Interment was in Halltown Cemetery.
    Pallbearers were Mark Thompson, Zack Massey, Bruce Coats, Ricky Coats, Greg Cummings and Steven Webb.
    Mrs. Hester is survived by one daughter, Mary Jo Stockton and husband Johnny, of Golden, Mississippi; three sons, Roger Hester of Red Bay, Terry Hester and wife Michelle, of Jackson, Mississippi, and Steven Hester and wife Wendy, of Fulton, Mississippi; two step-sons, Jesse Hester and wife Charlotte, and Kenny Hester, both of Vina; one brother, Vernon Coats and wife Everlean, of Vina; four sisters, Shellie Scott of Vina, Hettie Driskill of Steele, Missouri, Dot Honeycutt of Red Bay, and Dorothy Rollins and husband Roy Lee, of Hackleburg; ten grandchildren; one great-grandson; five step-grandchildren; nine step-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
    Deaton Funeral Home assisted the family.
    Eloise Poss, age 75, of Russellville, passed away Saturday, March 18, 2006, at ECM Hospital in Florence.
    Mrs. Poss was a lifelong resident of Franklin County. She was a member of the Church of Christ and was retired from the Lee Plant with over 20 years of service. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Odie Hovater and C.D. Poss; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Riley Searcy; and two brothers, Freddy Searcy and Charles Searcy.
    Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 21, 2006, at Pinkard Funeral Home Chapel in Russellville with James McCullar and Gene Franks officiating. Interment was in Franklin Memory Gardens.
    Mrs. Poss is survived by two daughters, Elaine Vaughn and husband Mike, of Russellville, and Linda Coppock and husband Sammy, of Florence; a brother, Olen Searcy of Russellville; a sister, Lois Hovater of Colbert Heights; two grandchildren, Wes Vaughn and wife Kristy, and Whitney Vaughn; and a great-granddaughter, Mattie Vaughn.
    Pinkard Funeral Home assisted the family.
