Red Devils cruise past Eagles 8-2

Corey Scott had four hits and three RBIs and Max Weeks pitched five strong innings of relief on Saturday as Vina improved to 5-1 with an 8-2 victory over Decatur Heritage.
Weeks (2-0) replaced starter Kyle Green in the third and went the rest of the way, holding the Eagles scoreless on one hit while striking out five and walking three.
Scott finished 4-for-4 with a double. Randy Barnes also drove in three runs, going 3-for-3. Rodney Barnes added a pair of doubles and an RBI for the Red Devils, who jumped out to an early lead with four runs in the first inning.
Patrick Cochran, Luke Childers and Anthony Hester each added one hit.
Also at Vina on Saturday, the Red Devils were trailing Hatton 7-6 and had runners at second and third in the fourth inning when the game was called due to darkness.
Hatton had defeated Hackleburg 2-1 earlier in the day.
Scott had two hits against Hatton and finished the day 6-for-7.
