Veda Mae Pratt Farley

Veda Mae Pratt Farley, age 88, of Haleyville, passed away Saturday, April 9, 2005, at Lakeland Community Hospital.
Mrs. Farley was a housewife and a member of South Haleyville Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bridge and Molly Pratt; her husband, Lewis Gladys Farley; and five siblings, Woodrow Pratt, Grady Pratt, Sam Pratt, Flonance Pratt and Marjorie Pratt.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, April 10, 2005, at Pinkard Funeral Home in Haleyville with Dr. T.B. Stringfellow officiating. Interment was in Union Grove Cemetery.
Mrs. Farley is survived by a son, Lewis Gene Farley of Haleyville.
Pinkard Funeral Home assisted the family.
Rev. B. Elmer Fowler

Rev. B. Elmer Fowler, age 74, of Moulton, passed away Friday, April 8, 2005, at his residence.
Rev. Fowler was born in Franklin County on April 8, 1931. He was a minister in the Muscle Shoals Baptist Association for 19 years and a member of Moulton Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Arlen Fowler and Nannie Bell Fowler; and two brothers, Oneal Fowler and Joe Fowler.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 10, 2005, at Moulton Baptist Church with Dr. Darryl Wood officiating. Interment was in Halltown Cemetery in Red Bay.
Rev. Fowler's nephews were pallbearers. His fellow ministers and their wives were honorary bearers.
Rev. Fowler is survived by his wife, JoAnn Fowler; two daughters, Sheree Bunting of Wills Point, Texas, and Karla Guinter of Lebanon, Missouri; three grandsons, Joel Bunting, Caleb Bunting and Joshua Guinter; a brother, John Horace Fowler of Red Bay; and two sisters, Magdaline Dees and Louise Brown, both of Red Bay.
Lawrence Funeral Home assisted the family.
William Henry Lucas

William Henry Lucas, age 88, of Russellville, passed away Thursday, April 7, 2005.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 14, 2005, at First Missionary Baptist Church in Russellville. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery.

Lanny Kay Malone

Lanny Kay Malone, age 53, of Red Bay, passed away Saturday, April 9, 2005, at his residence.
Mr. Malone was born February 29, 1952, in Mississippi, to Learcy Granville and Nadine Crane Malone. He worked for the street department for the city of Red Bay for four years and attended the Church of Christ.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 12, 2005, at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel in Red Bay with Turner Paseur officiating. Interment was in Red Bay City Cemetery.
Mr. Malone is survived by five brothers, Marty Malone, Clinton Malone and wife Diane, and Wade Malone, all of Red Bay, Jackie Malone of Pascugula, Mississippi, and Gerald Shook of Vicksburg, Mississippi; two sisters, Lana Malone Garcia and husband Ronnie, of Stanley, New Mexico, and Gloria Shook Bentley of Red Bay; and several nieces and nephews.
Deaton Funeral Home assisted the family.
O.C. Mayfield

O.C. Mayfield, age 76, of Russellville, passed away Friday, April 8, 2005.
Mr. Mayfield was a loving husband, daddy and paw. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Bessie Hale Mayfield; a brother, Larry Mayfield; and a sister, Doris Mayfield Allen.
Graveside funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Monday, April 11, 2005, at Gravel Hill Cemetery with Bro. Coye Marbutt officiating.
Mr. Mayfield is survived by his wife, Gail Tidwell Mayfield; a daughter, Kim West and husband Stacey, of Russellville; a step-son, Scott Tidwell; two brothers, Wayne Mayfield and wife Sue, and Glenn Mayfield and wife Linda, both of Russellville; a grandson, Casey West of Russellville; a granddaughter, Shelby West of Russellville; and several nieces and nephews.
Special thanks to the Russellville Hospital, police and EMTs.

Terry Joe McClellan

Terry Joe McClellan, age 47, of Russellville, passed away Saturday, April 9, 2005.
Mr. McClellan was preceded in death by his mother, Bernice McClellan; and his grandparents, Sherman and Dessie Stidham Cleveland, and Jack and Lela Mitchell McClellan.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 12, 2005, at Spry Memorial Chapel with Bro. Jerome Sherrill officiating. Interment was in Franklin Memory Gardens.
Mr. McClellan is survived by his father, Henry McClellan of Russellville; a sister, Patricia Nix and husband Barney, of Spruce Pine; a brother, James McClellan and wife Marcia, of Russellville; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mary Norene Royer

Mary Norene Royer, age 88, of Town Creek, passed away Thursday, April 7, 2005, at Country Cottage Assisted Living in Russellville.
Mrs. Royer was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Tennis Royer and Eldred Lawrence; and her parents, Oscar Nichols and Letha Nichols.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 9, 2005, at Lawrence Funeral Home Chapel with Roger Houston officiating. Interment was in Roselawn Cemetery in Decatur.
Mrs. Royer's nephews were pallbearers.
Mrs. Royer is survived by a brother, Leslie Nichols; and several nieces and nephews.

Stanley Lee Scott

Stanley Lee "Stan" Scott, age 49, of Auburn, Georgia and formerly of Vina, passed away February 22, 2005.
Funeral services were held on February 25, 2005, in Ewing Chapel Baptist Church in Ducula, Georgia. Interment was in the adjoining cemetery.
Mr. Scott is survived by his wife, Alice Scott; two children, April and Richard Scott; five grandchildren, all of Auburn, Georgia; his father, Wilford Scott of Suwanee, Georgia; his mother, Shirley Campbell of Vernon; two brothers, Steve Scott of Russellville and Randall Scott of Suwanee, Georgia; and three sisters, Renee Rogers and Deborah McKay, both of Vernon, and Jackie Whitworth of Mooreville, Mississippi.
Jewell Taylor Teas

Jewell Taylor Teas, age 85, of Russellville, passed away Sunday, April 10, 2005, at Russellville Health Care.
Mrs. Teas lived all her life in Franklin County and was a member of Concord Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Aubrey Teas; and two brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 12, 2005, at Pinkard Funeral Home chapel in Russellville with Dan Hindman officiating. Interment was in Knights of Pythias Cemetery.
Mrs. Teas is survived by a son, Terry E. McCarley of Russellville; a daughter-in-law, Nita West McCarley of Russellville; two granddaughters, Teresa King of Russellville and Wendy Morgan of Opelika; and several nieces and nephews.
Pinkard Funeral Home assisted the family.
