City Expects Natural Gas by Autumn
Russellville is expected to have natural gas late this year, representatives of J.W. Goodwin Engineering Co., Birmingham, told aldermen Monday night.
A hearing has been scheduled by the Federal Power Comission about April 1, the engineers said, and the city's bid for a gas system should be accepted.
School Gets Flag Which Was Flown Over Capital
A very special flag was raised over the elementary school last Friday at 2 p.m. An official letter from Washington testifies that it flew for one day over the capitol building there.
Mrs. J.G. Sanders, president of the Parent-Teacher Assn., presented the flag to Mrs. Miller, principal of the school, on behalf of the P.T.A.
As brownies, cub scouts, girl and boy scouts stood at attention, 1/Sgt. James Henderson of the National Guard raised the flag, assisted by M/Sgt. Bill Tucker and Sfc Jack Turbyfill.
