The Northwest-Shoals Community College golf team shot a final-round 302 on Tuesday to finish seventh out of 14 teams at the Brevard Community College tournament in Melbourne, Florida.
The Patriots, currently ranked No. 11 in the nation, were in second place after firing an opening round 299 on Monday.
They fell to sixth after a second-round 301 and slipped to seventh on Tuesday, finishing four shots back of third place.
Gourgeot, who finished the fall schedule ranked No. 6 nationally, shot 75-75 the first two rounds before stumbling on Tuesday.
One player who stepped up for the Patriots this week was Russellville graduate Justin Boyles, who capped a strong tournament with a final-round 73 on Tuesday.
Boyles shot 75-79 on Monday and finished with the second best score of the match for Northwest-Shoals.
Brian Jones led the way for the Patriots on Tuesday with a one-under par 71. Jonathan Scoggins of Tuscumbia shot a 76, and Hunter Roberts shot an 82.
Clark said that his squad really missed Clay Wilson, who finished one credit hour shy of being academically eligible to play in the spring.
Wilson, a former Russellville standout, finished second at one tournament in the fall and fourth at another.
The Patriots' next tournament will be the UNA Classic on March 13-14.
