PHILADELPHIA Cook's Chapel UMC is offering an after-school tutoring and mentoring program for children in first grade and above. It is a free ministry of the church. Parents may contact Neshoba Central to make arrangements for their children to be dropped off from the school bus to the church on Wednesday afternoons. Children must be picked up at 6 p.m.

LAUDERDALE Homecoming will be observed at First Baptist Church of Lauderdale, 3659 Lauderdale Road. Sunday school will begin at 9:30 a.m., followed by worship service at 11 a.m. The day will feature several speakers and a covered dish fellowship meal after morning services.
HOUSE The Rev. Gordon Winslow of Jackson will be guest speaker at First Pentecostal Church of House during 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. services. Winslow also will speak during Monday and Tuesday services at 7 p.m. For more information, call 656-3303.
The Singleton-Gates Circle of the mission ministry of St. John Missionary Baptist Church will sponsor their annual Pre-Thanksgiving Day program at 3 p.m. The Rev. Macedonia Primitive Baptist Church's annual fall tea is at 3 p.m. The Rev. Paul Garrett of New Prospect Missionary Baptist Church will be guest speaker.
Five Christian women from various work fields will share the glory of serving Christ during the annual Women's Day celebration at St. James AME Church, 3700 Davis St. The program will begin at 4 p.m.
Speakers will be: Josephine Hughes, education; a representative from Greater Meridian Health Clinic, medicine; Alma Houze, business; Vel Young, law; and Jesse Beverly, ministry. "Women United to Make a Difference in the World" is the theme.
RIDERWOOD, Ala. The Seven Seals Program will be held at Wahalak Baptist Church at 6 p.m.

PHILADELPHIA Jerusalem Temple Church's five-day Revival in Song Workshop and Concert begins at the church located at 414 Ivy St. The workshop and rehearsal is scheduled Monday through Thursday, with concert performances Friday and Saturday.
In addition to five days of praise, participants will be taught vocal techniques and will gain knowledge of the ministry behind gospel music. Facilitators will be the Rev. Elder Stan Jones, Jerusalem Temple's minister of music, and Darryl Young, choir director.
Registration for the gospel workshop is $15. Admission is free to the concerts. On Friday, the concert performance will be followed by the legendary gospel group The Williams Brothers and Saturday, Jackson, Mississippi's Greater Bethlehem Temple Church Choir will join the evening's performance schedule. NEWTON Nationally known evangelist David Ring will be guest speaker at First Baptist Church at 7 p.m. Ring, who has had cerebral palsy since birth, will give a testament of his life through the presentation "I Have Cerebral Palsy What's Your Problem?" SEBASTAPOL A benefit gospel program for accident victim Harmon Jones is scheduled from 4-9 p.m. Nov. 20 at Sebastapol High School Auditorium. Featured groups will include Second Mile, The Duncan Sisters/Kim Ervin, The Leaf River Boys and First Born Quartet. Concessions will be sold.

SHUBUTA The congregation of Center Ridge Baptist Church will celebrate the church's 113th anniversary at 2:30 p.m. on Nov. 21. Guest speaker will be the Rev. Cornelius McDonald of John the Baptist Church, Vossburg. The pastor will be accompanied by his church choir.

HEIDELBERG Greater Beaver Meadow Missionary Baptist Church will host a Pre-Thanksgiving Day Praise Celebration at 7 p.m. on Nov. 24. The Rev. Melvin Jennings will be guest speaker.
