Ruby New, 94, reaches out from her perch in a bucket truck today to hang ribbons at the top of the Memory Tree at Bonita Lakes. Meridian residents will observe Veterans Day on Thursday with a 10 a.m. service at the Doughboy Monument and a 3 p.m. parade in downtown Meridian. The parade will begin at 25th Avenue and Ninth Street, turn left on 23rd Avenue, pass by the Doughboy Monument to Front Street, turn left onto 22nd Avenue, pass Dumont Plaza and end at the downtown post office on Ninth Street.
