Sheriff's Department charges Mobley with DUI manslaughter

Sally Jean Mobley, 50, of Route 1 Box 99-E, Porterville, remained in the Lauderdale County Detention Center on Thursday after she was charged with DUI manslaughter.
She was charged after a weekend car accident killed James Lewis, 40, of Meridian. Her bond has been set at $100,000.
Lauderdale County Sheriff Billy Sollie said Thursday that thanks to the aid of the community, through a CrimeStoppers tip, his department is now able to bring the right person to justice.
Mobley's live-in boyfriend, Jimmie C. Wright, 58, was originally arrested on the charge, but a call to the county's CrimeStoppers telephone line Tuesday night revealed that Mobley was driving the car.
The DUI charges against Wright were dropped, but he also remains in the county jail on charges of accessory after the fact. He is being held on a $25,000 bond.
Sollie said after deputies received the tip, Wright was questioned and admitted that he was not driving the car at the time of the accident.
Sollie said the two-vehicle accident happened on Highway 145 in Lauderdale at about 9:30 p.m. on Saturday. Wright's car was traveling north on Highway 145 and Lewis' vehicle was headed south.
This is Mobley's second drinking and driving arrest, she was arrested on Aug. 13 for DUI, first offense.
