PHILADELPHIA Services for Carolyn D. Ellingburg were to be held today at 10 a.m. at John E. Stephens Chapel with the Revs. Barry Fulton and John Stephens officiating. Burial was to be in East Lawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Ellingburg, 60, of Philadelphia, died Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2004, in her home.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Ellingburg; a daughter, Donna Dennis and a step-daughter, Gina Stubblefield, all of Philadelphia; a son, Allen Davis of Jackson; a step-son, Frankie Ellingburg of Philadelphia; brothers, Charles Cummings of Hawkins, Texas and William Cummings of Philadelphia; 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her brother, James Cummings.

QUITMAN Graveside services for Jane Carol Schrimpshire will be held today at 11 a.m. at Coopers Chapel Cemetery in Clarke County with the Revs. Grady Crowell and Keyon Smith officiating. Wright's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Schrimpshire, 61, of Shubuta, died Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2004, in her home.

Schrimpshire of Shubuta; a son, Charles Richard Link of Scottsville, Ky.; a daughter, Nicole James of Shubuta; a sister, Sally Pedigo of Franklin, Ky.; and three grandchildren.

JACKSON Memorial services for Willis "Terry" Hinton Jr. will be held today at 2 p.m. at St. James Episcopal Church. Mark Seepe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Hinton, 69, of Jackson, died Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2004, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson.
He was born on June 7, 1935, in McNeil to Willis T. Hinton Sr. and Annie Grace Hinton. At age six, his family relocated to Bogalusa, La. He spent his elementary and high school years in Bogalusa where he excelled in football and baseball, and enjoyed being outdoors hunting and fishing. An outstanding athlete, he led the Bogalusa Lumberjacks to consistent winning seasons. In 1953, he was elected Athlete of the Year in Bogalusa and graduated from Bogalusa High School.
He attended Mississippi State on a football scholarship from 1953-1955 where he was a tackle and a member of the M Club. In 1956, he was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds and played league baseball in Florida and Georgia until he was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1958. Mr. Hinton spent 22 months in the Army most of which was on a 18-month tour guarding the wall in Berlin, Germany. Upon his discharge, he returned to Bogalusa and enrolled at the University of Southern Mississippi. After graduating from USM in 1961, he married and moved to Jackson where he spent many years.
After marrying Joyce Bailey in 1962, he had a career in insurance and sales. He spent the last 12 years of his profession working in sales at Tom Wimberly. During those 12 years, he received many awards and accolades from Lincoln Mercury.
In his later years, he continued to enjoy hunting and fishing with friends and family. He spent countless hours gardening and time outdoors. He was an avid sports lover and will be remembered as a loyal supporter of the Mississippi State University Bulldogs. He followed the Dogs season after season and always looked forward to the next winning season.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Joyce Bailey Hinton; a son, Paul Hinton of Tallahassee, Fla.; a daughter, Melissa Benton and her husband, John Miles Benton III, of Birmingham, Ala.; grandsons, John and Mason Benton; and his mother, Annie Grace Hinton of Jackson.
Memorials may be made to The Serenity Garden at the Hederman Cancer Center at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center, 1225 North State St., Jackson, MS 39202.
Visitation will be today from noon-2 p.m. at the church.
