Retired educator
Services for Rodney D. "Coach" Walker will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at James F. Webb Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Lauderdale Springs Cemetery.
Mr. Walker, of Meridian, died Monday, Aug. 30, 2004, at Lakeland Nursing Home in Jackson. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a retired teacher at Meridian Community College and a football coach at Kate Griffin Junior High School.
Survivors include his daughter, Sara Walker of Acworth, Ga.; grandchildren, Phillip Walker, Michelle Vanlandingham and Tyler Walker' and a great-grandchild, William Michael Vanlandingham.
Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. at the funeral home.

DEKALB Memorial services for David Earl Hoyt will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Springhill Methodist Church with the Rev. Owen Gordon officiating. Stephens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Hoyt, 52, of DeKalb, died Monday, Aug. 30, 2004, in his home.
Survivors include his brother, Ray Hoyt of Meridian; sisters, Janet McWilliams of Springfield, Mo., and Susie VanDevender of Meridian; grandparents, Hollie and Rowena Hailey, both of DeKalb; his step-mother, Rachel Eakes of DeKalb; step-sisters, Kathy Lanier and Tammy Atkinson, both of DeKalb; his step-father, Fred Gressett of Meridian; an aunt and uncle, Barbara and Bradley Williamson of Canton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James E. Hoyt and Catherine Gressett.

Services for Robert Edward Joiner will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Springhill Methodist Church with the Revs. Paul Raley and Roy Dabbs officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. James F. Webb Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Joiner, 49, of Meridian, died Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2004, at Rush Foundation Hospital. He was a member of Springhill Methodist Church.
Survivors include his brothers, Lewis Joiner and Leroy Joiner, both of Meridian; nieces, Rene, Tracy and Lani; nephews, Thorne, Thomas, Mark and Eric; step-children, Andrea Chadwick and Albert Chadwick.
Pallbearers will be James Dial, Hollis Ray, James Rackly, Bill Spoons, Joel Harrison, Johnathan Smith, Richard Craft, Donald Lewis and Leroy Morris.
Visitation will be Thursday from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. at the funeral home and Friday one hour prior to the service at the church.

Memorial services for Victor "Dell" Armstrong will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Stephens Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Malcolm Lewis officiating.
Mr. Armstrong, 56, of Meridian, died Friday, Aug. 27, 2004, at Heartfelt Hospice.
Survivors include her daughters, Tara Armstrong and Tiffany Armstrong, both of Jackson; one grandchild; a brother, Leon Armstrong Jr. and his wife, Claire, of Birmingham, Ala.; sisters, Linda Delmonico and her husband, James, of Blaine, Minn., and Teresa Pennington and her husband, Richard, of Benton, La.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leon Armstrong Jr. and Katherine Armstrong.

Services for Annette Hudson will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Lauderdale with the Rev. Obidiah Clemmons officiating. Burial will be in Daleville Cemetery. Clark's Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Hudson, 44, of Meridian, died Saturday, Aug. 28, 2004, at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson.
Survivors include her husband, King Hudson of Monroe, La.; her father, Mose Sanders of Los Angeles; sons, Alonzo Tyuse and Floyd Tyuse, both of Meridian; sisters, Joyce Tyuse and Brenda Boyd, both of Meridian, Mattie Sanders and Mary Alice Sanders, both of Los Angeles; brothers, Algene Tyuse of St. Louis and Michael Sanders of Los Angeles.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Ethel Mae Tyuse, and a brother.
Visitation will be Friday from 6 p.m.-7 p.m. at the funeral home and Saturday one hour prior to the service at the church.
Arrangements were incomplete at James F. Webb Funeral Home for Gloria Zimmerman, 59, of Fruitdale, Ala., formerly of Chunky, who died Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2004, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
