The Lauderdale County Board of Supervisors today changed the date of its public hearing on the proposed budget for fiscal year 2004-2005 from Tuesday, Sept. 7, to Tuesday, Sept. 14. The hearing will be 5:30 p.m. in the boardroom of the Raymond P. Davis courthouse annex at 410 Constitution Ave.
Tony Green, Lauderdale County administrator, said the date was changed to give county officials more time to make additional cuts to a budget that will probably include a tax increase because of rising expenses and debt and little increase in projected revenue.
