Budget brigade

By Staff
Do you agree with spending priorities of Lauderdale County officials? Do you think you can craft a better budget for the county's next fiscal year that starts Oct. 1? And do you think a tax increase is necessary?
Contact the Budget Brigade, sponsored by The Meridian Star.
Jot down your top spending priorities, any suggestions for budget cuts and your thoughts on a possible tax increase. Then call Lauderdale County officials and tell them your thoughts.
You can reach Lauderdale County supervisors Eddie Harper of District 1, Jimmie Smith of District 2, Craig Hitt of District 3, Joe Norwood of District 4 and Ray Boswell of District 5 at the courthouse annex at 482-9746.
After that, share with us your thoughts and ideas by calling the Budget Brigade hotline at 693-1551, ext. 3236. Just leave your name, phone number and a detailed message. You also can send e-mail to budgetbrigade@yahoo.com.
