The Kemper Academy athletic program is preparing for another season of competition.
The Rams will have teams in football, girls and boys basketball, fast-pitch softball, slow-pitch softball and baseball this year.
The program gets this season underway with football and fast-pitch softball in the fall.
McCleskey will coach the football team and has about 21 players out this season. He is assisted by Billy Adam Calvert.
Jimbo Mosley will handle the coaching duties during fast-pitch softball. According to McCleskey, the number of players is down but the team should enjoy some success.
In girls' basketball, new coach Alton Leach will take over the girls' program. According to McCleskey, Leach should do a great job for the Lady Rams.
Jerry Jones will once again be the boys' basketball coach.
In the spring, the slow-pitch softball season will get started and the Lady Rams will begin their title defense.
Last season, Kemper won the Overall MPSA Class A State Championship after battling through the North State. The team lost some seniors but should once again should be competitive.
Jones will be the coach for the Kemper Academy baseball team in the spring.
