Meridian HS founding a booster club
Meridian High School head football coach Ed Stanley is starting a quarterback club.
Those interested in being a member of the Wildcats quarterback club should contact the coach at 485-8675.
The club's first meeting will be held from noon-1 p.m. on Aug. 24 at Barnhills, and it will meet every Monday throughout the season.
Meridian High will hold its "Meet the Wildcats" night at 7 p.m. on Aug. 13.

Trojans will host jamboree on Aug. 20
Northeast Lauderdale will host a three-team football jamboree on Aug. 20, one week before opening the regular season at Northwest Rankin.
The Trojans, coming off a 5-7 record and a berth in the second round of the 4A state playoffs, will compete against Raleigh and Morton in the jamboree. Each team will face the other two teams for a two-quarter scrimmage.
Northeast Lauderdale held its first practice of the year on Monday with conditioning work and non-contact drills.
