Ms. Cottles, 27, of Mountain City, Tenn., died Wednesday, July 21, 2004, at Johnson City Medical Center in Johnson City, Tenn. She attended West Lauderdale High School. She loved singing gospel music and horseback riding. She was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Mountain City, Tenn.
Survivors include her sons, Dustin Cottles and Hunter Cottles, both of Meridian; her father, Jimmy Speed and his wife, Vickie, of Meridian; her mother, Susan Powell and her husband, Donnie, of Johnson, City; brothers, Jim Speed of Mountain City, Steven Speed of Biloxi and Robert Speed of Indiana; step-brothers, Justin Alexander and Jacob Alexander, both of Meridian; paternal grandmother, Barbara Speed of Enterprise; step-grandparents, Bill and Peggy Boatner, of Meridian; step-grandparents, Jim and Maxine Castle of Collinsville and a special friend, Jammie Phillipi of Mountain City and several aunts and uncles.
UNION Services for Hershel Newton Campbell will be held today at 4 p.m. at Milling Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Conehatta Cemetery.
Mr. Campbell, 73, of Newton, died Thursday, July 22, 2004, at Newton Regional Hospital. He enjoyed construction and carpentry work.
Survivors include a daughter, Shirley Wilkerson of Ocean Springs; a son, Rocky Campbell and his wife Linda of Newton; three grandsons and a great-granddaughter.
Pallbearers will be William Jones, Mike Watkins, Billy Haralson, Wayne Haralson, Todd Campbell and Lee Peason.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
LAUREL Services for John O. Moore will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Laurel, with the Rev. Robert Horel officiating. Burial will be in Waynesboro City Cemetery. Memory Chapel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Moore, 67, of Laurel, died Friday, July 23, 2004, at his home. He graduated from Mississippi State University in Forestry in 1961. He was a forester for the Mississippi Forestry Commission, vice-president of Longleaf Timber Company and a retired forestry consultant. He was a member and past president of the Mississippi Forestry Association and Mississippi Lumber Manufacturers Association. He was selected Fellow in the Society of American Forestry and he was trustee of the Mississippi Forestry Foundation. He was also a Paul Harris Fellow in the Rotary Club.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy Moore; daughters, Karen Moore of Hattiesburg and Kristy Harris and her husband Marcq of Olive Branch; a son, Kent Moore and his wife Tammy of Philadelphia; grandchildren, Tyler and Olivia Moore and Katherine and Marianna Harris; five stepchildren; eight stepgrandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Gerald Moore of Petal and sisters, Alice Pouncey of Decatur and Elizabeth McDill of Conehatta.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert E. Moore; his mother, Julie B. Moore and his wives, Johnnie Moore and Bettye Moore.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Allen, Donnie Pat Thornton, George Alsworth, Scott Alexander, Lavon Moss, Phil Bueheler and Al Moore.
Visitation will be today from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Graveside services for Blanche Virginia Banes Wilson will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Old Marion Cemetery, with Dr. Tom Sikes officiating. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Wilson, 96, of Meridian, died Thursday, July 22, 2004, in Stockbridge, Ga.
Survivors include her daughter, Virginia Cornwell and her husband Paul of Stockbridge; a grandchild, Mary Elizabeth Cornwell; nieces, Jackie Cumpman, Peggy Wilson, Loraine Irby and Mary Ann Neal and nephews William Banes and Tommy Banes.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie Clark Wilson.
Visitation will be Monday from 9 a.m.-10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
Services for Johnnie Stone will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at El Belthel Baptist Church, with the Rev. Van C. Williams officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Toomsuba. Berry and Gardner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Stone, 85, of Meridian, died Wednesday, July 21, 2004, at Rush Foundation Hospital.
Survivors include his daughter, Lula Cole of University Park, Ill.; sons, Johnnie L. Stone Jr. and David Stone, both of Fort Heights, Ill.; and 12 grandchildren.
Visitation will be Sunday from 5 p.m.-6 p.m. at the funeral home.
Services for Edward Winners were held Friday, July 23, 2004, at Silas B. Herrington Memorial Chapel, the Rev. David Manisco officiated. Burial was in Cedar Haven Cemetery. Berry and Gardner Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Winners, 84, of Meridian, died Saturday, July 17, 2004, at Rush Foundation Hospital.
