Meridian native Lisa Hatcher Kell has been named director of Medicare Operations for Alabama Quality Assurance Foundation.
A registered nurse, Kell will direct the foundation's activities toward enhancing the health care received by Alabama's Medicare beneficiaries.
Kell is a graduate of the University of Mississippi Medical Center School of Nursing. She completed her graduate degree in nursing case management in rural populations at the University of Alabama.
Kell has extensive experience in patient education, performance improvement, diabetes outcomes management and case management program development, according to a press release issued from Susan B. Holmes, the foundation's interim chief executive officer.
The Alabama Quality Assurance Foundation is a non-profit organization whose goal is to improve the quality of health care for Alabama's Medicare beneficiaries. It serves about 700,000 Medicare beneficiaries and 6,000 providers across the state.
