ELLISVILLE The Jones Junior College Lady Bobcats will have some "fun in the sun" this Christmas holiday season.
Coach Sandra Sumrall's basketball team has been invited to participate in the Hawaii Junior College Basketball Christmas Classic in Honolulu Dec. 15-21.
But the trip will cost money, of course. The team is in the process of raising funds to make the trip.
There will be eight men and women's teams competing in the basketball tournament. Each team is assured of three games in paradise.
First up on the fund-raising agenda will be the Hawaiian Classic Tennis Tournament, set for July 9-11 at the JCJC Tennis Courts. The tournament will consist of men's and women's doubles of 3.0, 3.5 and 4.0 and mixed doubles of 6.0 and 7.0. There will also be a fun bracket. Entry fee is $25 per person.
Sumrall said fans will be allowed to make the trip, if possible.
For more information about the tennis tournament or about travel plans with the team, contact Sumrall at 477-4090 or 477-4087.
