Morgan Wright of Meridian was recently named to the Belhaven College's dean's list for the spring 2004 semester. To qualify for this honor, students must be enrolled full time and have a semester grade point average between 3.4 and 3.99.
Rodney Scott and Derrick Vick, both of Meridian, have been accepted to Universal Technical Institute in Houston and will train to become professional automotive technicians.
Jason Erik Smith of Meridian recently completed degree work during the 2004 spring semester at the University of South Alabama. Smith received a bachelor's degree in computer and information sciences.
Students from Meridian who were named to the dean's list were Lane Campbell Dorman, Criston Elizabeth Smith, Krystal B. Wilson and Mary Millard Cerasi.
Randall S. Jackson of Collinsville, Jamie L. Whitley of Meridian, Cheryl L. Chapman of Newton and Faith M. Martin, Kelly S. Nelson and Tenisha N. Wess, all of Philadelphia, were recently inducted into the Mississippi State University College of Education's chapter of Kappa Delta Pi honor society.
Heidi Aline Elliott of Meridian accepted membership in the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and will be honored during a campus ceremony this fall at North Carolina State University.
Sarah Elizabeth Tartt recently graduated magna cum laude from the University of Southern Mississippi.
While at USM, Tartt was named as a member of Who's Who Among American Colleges and Universities and participated in Southern Miss Honors College program.
She was involved in the Kappa Delta Sorority, was a USM Baseball Diamond Darling and was a Beta Gamma Sigma business honorary.
In addition to her extracurricular activities, Tartt participated in a study abroad program through the University of Kansas in Venice in Spring 2003, and interned at the Georgia O'Keefe museum in Santa Fe, N.M. in the summer 2003.
In the fall, Tartt will attend Southern Methodist University in Dallas to pursue a degree in arts administration.
Tartt is the daughter of Dr. Stephen and Beth Tartt of Bailey.
