Services for Bertha L. Gaskins will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Tommy Jones, Harold Scott and Paul Early officiating. Burial will be in Hebron Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Gaskins, 78, of Meridian, died Thursday, June 17, 2004, in Meridian. She was a member of Hebron Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, A.W. Gaskins of Arcadia, Fla.; daughters, Wanda Wingo and her husband, Ross, of Meridian and Betty Gaskins of Arcadia, Fla.; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Thelma Freeman of Oklahoma, Earbelle Davis of Georgia and Velma Henbree of Florida and several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to Hebron Baptist Church or Gideons.
Pallbearers will be Richard Hollingsworth, Bobby Martin, Andy Linton, Steve Harper, Donald Carter and Bobby Murphy.
Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Services for Nelda Skinner will be held Sunday at 3:30 p.m. at Barham Chapel will the Revs. Milford Gamble, Jerry Whitner and Norman Beard officiating. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Skinner, 46, of Meridian, died Friday, June 18, 2004, in her home. She was a day care owner and a nurse at Rush Foundation Hospital.
Survivors include her husband, Donald Skinner of Meridian; sons Anthony Gewin and his wife Amy and Stephen Skinner, all of Meridian; her brothers, Shelby Beard Jr. and his wife Georgia of Seattle, Wash., Norman Beard and his wife Sandra of Meridian, and David Morrow and Shawn Morrow, both of Atlanta, Ga.; her sisters, Debra Leazy and her husband Gary of Dalton, Ohio, and Lori Ramage and her husband Bobby of Meridian; her father, Shelby Beard Sr. and his wife Jean of Atlanta; her mother, Jo Ann Coate; a grandson, Isaac Gewin, aunts; an uncle and several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Services for Selby Lee Nelson will be held Sunday at 4 p.m. at Pine Grove Baptist Church in Neshoba County, with the Revs. Jim Rigdon, Lin Chesney and Gilbert Allan officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. McClain-Hays Funeral Home in Philadelphia is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Nelson, 83, of Union, died Friday, June 18, 2004, at his home. He was a veteran of the United States Navy.
Survivors include his wife, Margueritte Slayton Nelson of Union; his daughters, Lynn Nelson Stokes and her husband Ray of Gulfport and Sheila Nelson Watson and her husband Hanna of Union; a son, Steve Nelson and his wife Barbara of Union; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lee and Sudie Nelson; a brother, Chestor Nelson; sisters Gladys Nelson Walker and Lois Nelson Smith and one granddaughter.
Memorials may be made to the Pine Grove Cemetery Fund.
Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
YORK, Ala. Services for Marguerite Lynch will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at York Presbyterian Church, with the Dr. J. Kelly Unger officiating. Burial will be in the York Mausoleum. Bumpers Funeral Home in York is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Lynch, 83, of York, died Friday, June 18, 2004, at Sumter Health and Rehabilitation.
Survivors include a daughter, Claire Turberville of Bel Air, Md., sons, Robert Edgar Lynch Jr. of Acworth, Ga. and Joseph "Joey" Charles Lynch of Meridian; a brother, Robert A. Beau of Folsom, La.; a sister, Shirley C. Beau of Arabi, La.; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Bob" E. Lynch Sr.
Memorials may be made to York Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 696, York, Ala, 36925.
Visitation will be Sunday from 2 p.m.-4 p.m. at the funeral home.
Services for Annie Mae Thompson will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Hebron Baptist Church Cemetery with the Revs. Paul Early and Tommy Jones officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Thompson, 93, of Meridian, died Thursday, June 17, 2004 at Riley Memorial Hospital. She was a lifelong member of Hebron Baptist Church.
Survivors include her sister, Ruby Irby of Meridian; nieces, nephews and several great- and great-great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert H. "Bob" Thompson.
Memorials may be made to Hebron Baptist Church.
Visitations will be Sunday from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home and Monday 30 minutes prior to the service at the church.
Arrangements were incomplete at Barham Funeral Home in Newton County for Clarence Durward Vance, 71, of Newton, who died Friday, June 18, 2004, in Newton.
Arrangements were incomplete at Barham Funeral Home for Leota Brunson, 83, of Meridian, who died in her home.
