Tomerlin signs with EMCC golf

Bryan Tomerlin fulfilled a goal he has had for a long time on Monday.
The Clarkdale High School graduated signed a letter of intent at Trustmark Bank in downtown Meridian to play for the East Mississippi Community College golf team next season .
The golfer was surrounded by his parents, David and Debbie, and his sister, Amanda, when he signed with Lions in a boardroom on the bank's second floor.
Tomerlin was named to the All-District team and received the golf most valuable player award at Clarkdale in his final season.
He said having the opportunity to sign with a college team and continue his education was the result of a lot of hard work.
The school in Scooba provides Tomerlin with the feel of being away from home, while still remaining close to where he grew up.
The former Bulldogs golfer plans to major in mechanical engineering, and he said signing with EMCC is the first step of a plan he has set out for himself.
