The Meridian Police Department is investigating the shooting death of Jeremy Scott, 19, of Meridian, whose body was discovered at about 2:30 a.m. Saturday in a house on the 700 block of 53rd Avenue.
Det. Dean Harper, an MPD spokesman, said Scott died of multiple gunshot wounds. Harper said officers have been "interviewing witnesses for a description of the vehicle that fled the scene, and its occupants."
Anyone who has additional information about this shooting is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 485-1860.
Saturday's shooting marked the second homicide in Meridian this week. On Tuesday, 28-year-old John Anthony was shot and killed in a convenience store parking lot.
The alleged shooter, Jerry W. Pearson, took his own life hours after the shooting.
Meanwhile, in an unrelated case in Clarke County, sheriff's deputies are investigating the death of Robert Glen White, 25, of Meridian, who was shot and killed late Friday.
Clarke County Sheriff Todd Kemp said at about 11:40 p.m. Friday near Enterprise, White allegedly entered the home of his ex-wife and "had an altercation" with her boyfriend, Eric Graves.
Kemp said Graves allegedly shot White in the torso. White was later pronounced dead at the scene.
White and his ex-wife, who was in her home with Graves at the time of Friday's shooting, divorced in April.
Graves has not been charged in the shooting but is currently being held at the Clarke County jail for further investigation.
