NEWTON Services for Jerry Wayne Pearson will be held today at 3 p.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel. with the Rev. Steve Robinson officiating. Burial will be in Newton County Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Pearson, 48, of Meridian, died Tuesday, May 25, 2004, in Meridian. He was a graduate of Hickory High School in 1973.
Survivors include his children, Jeremy Pearson and Mandy Pearson; parents, Martha and Jerald Pearson of Hickory; sisters, Gail Pierce and her husband, William and Debbie Pearson of Meridian and several other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Rusty Pearson.
Pallbearers will be Tony Robinson, Terry Rhodes, Ricky Embrey, Tommy McCall, Tim Lindley, Dusty Pearson and Lee Pearson.
Visitation will be today from1 p.m.-3 p.m. at the funeral home.
QUITMAN A memorial service for Victor Gilbert McLendon Jr. will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Clarke County Baptist Center. Wright's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. McLendon, 68, of Quitman, died Wednesday, May 26, 2004, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include his mother, Lennie McLendon of Laurel; sons, Mike McLendon and his fianc, Laurel Betts, of Brier, Wash., Jeff McLendon and his wife, Angela, of Cleveland, Texas, Ian McLendon and his fianc, Vonday Kay Evans of Quitman; sisters, Hilda Johnson of Laurel, Sue Clunan of Birmingham, Ala.; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Victor G. McLendon Sr. and his son, Sloane McLendon.
Memorials may be made to the Sloane McLendon Scholarship Fund at BankPlus.
PHILADELPHIA Services for Gladys Bryan will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at North Bend United Pentecostal Church with the Revs. Brown Barrier and Billy Sodders officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. McClain-Hays Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Bryan, 84, of Philadelphia, died Thursday, May 27, 2004, at Neshoba County General Hospital in Philadelphia.
Survivors include her daughters, Mildred Stroudt of Meridian, Bessie Andrews of Morley, Mich., Evelyn Parham, Naomi Beckham, Nellie Woodward, Verdain Glenn and Mary Burkeen, all of Philadelphia, Lula Belle Bryan of Carthage; sons, Hailey Bryan of Philadelphia, Frank Bryan of Forest, Duwayne Bryan of Horn Lake, Bennie Bryan, V.W. "Billy" Bryan Jr., Aaron Bryan, all of Philadelphia and David Bryan of Livingston, La.; 60 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Bertha Beckham of Gladwin, Mich., and Billie Bailey of Noxapater.
She was preceded in death by her husband, V.W. Bryan Sr.
Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Services for Dianne Lantz Miska will be held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Jones Chapel Church of God with the Revs. Ron Leonard and Deloris Bailey officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Miska, 51, of Meridian, died Thursday, May 27, 2004, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. She was a former school teacher with the Lauderdale County Schools at Clarkdale. She was a member of Jones Chapel Church of God.
Survivors include her husband Larry R. Miska, of Meridian, daughter Kimberly Maria Miska, and a son Richard Lantz Miska, all of Meridian; a father Harold Gene Lantz, a step-mother Ruthie both of Union; and a brother Darrell Lantz and his wife Sandra, of Collinsville.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Louise Blalock Lantz.
Memorials may be made to Jones Chapel Church of God Family Life Center.
Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home and 30 minutes prior to the service at the church.
