Retired painter
Services for Woodie "Reed" Haguewood will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Center Grove Baptist Church with the Revs. Edward Smith and Irvin Mooney officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Haguewood, 91, of Meridian, died Monday, May 24, 2004, at Riley Hospital. He was a lifelong member of Center Grove Baptist Church. He was a faithful mall walker for many years.
Survivors include his daughter, Mary Nell Neal and her husband, J.D., of Meridian; a sister, Lula Daniels and her husband, Warren, of the Zero Community; two grandchildren, Cathy Owens and Dana Covert and her husband, David, all of Meridian; great-grandchildren, Benny and Ashley Owens, Sammy Broadhead, Daniel and Maddie Covert, all of Meridian, Morgan Duett, Thompson Duett and Emilee Duett, all of Jacksonville, Fla.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Violet Haguewood; and an infant daughter, Ruth Elaine Haguewood.
Memorials may be made to Center Grove Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons and nephews.
Visitation will be today 5:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m. at the funeral home and 30 minutes prior to the service at the church.

Services for the Rev. Otis L. Goodwin will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church on 11th Avenue with the Rev. R.L. McDonald officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Cemetery. Berry and Gardner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Rev. Goodwin, 90, of Meridian, died Thursday, May 20, 2004, at Wings of the Dove.
Survivors include his daughter, Thelma Patrick of Livingston, Ala.; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; four step-daughters, Sarah Walker, Dorothy Hudson, Mary Smith and Betty Williams, all of Meridian.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two sons and a daughter.
Visitation will be Thursday 6 p.m.-7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Services for David Armstrong will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Berry and Gardner Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David Mosley officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Cemetery.
Mr. Armstrong, 28, of Meridian, died Saturday, May 22, 2004, at the Mississippi Burn Center.
Survivors include his mother, Rosie Armstrong; brothers, Elmer Armstrong Jr., Robert E. Armstrong, Henry Armstrong, Shannon Armstrong, Billie Ray Armstrong and Bobbie Ray Armstrong, all of Meridian; sisters, Lillie Ann Armstrong, Rosie Marie Randall, Alanda Ivory and Amanda Combs, all of Meridian, and Aletha McCullum of New Orleans; half-sisters, Annette Taylor and Michelle Lewis; and half-brothers, Albert Taylor and Timothy Adams, all of Meridian.
Visitation will be Friday 7:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Homemaker
Services for Addie Edwards will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Little Hope Baptist Church in Toomsuba. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Berry and Gardner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Edwards, 85, of Toomsuba, died Thursday, May 20, 2004, at Guardian Angel Hospice.
Survivors include her daughter, Christine Walker of Toomsuba; sisters, Annie Emma Brewster and Marie Alford, both of Toomsuba, and Martha Ross; a brother, Joe Brewster of Lisman, Ala.; 16 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren and 20 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday 6 p.m.-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Arrangements were incomplete at James F. Webb Funeral Home of Newton for Willis Gene Higgins of Newton, who died Tuesday, May 25, 2004, in his home.
