Spring football at West Lauderdale was somewhat like that at many smaller schools a case of taking what you've got to work with and trying to get something accomplished.
West was supposed to play in a jamboree at Neshoba Central last Thursday along with the host Rockets, Choctaw Central and Newton. The anticipated action was canceled because of rain. To further compound matters, Rocket Field was slated to be the host site for the Neshoba County Relay for Life the following night.
The Knights finished 9-3 last fall, reaching the second round of the Class 3A state playoffs.
