Powell, Meeks

Mr. and Mrs. William Winston Powell of Meridian announce the engagement of their daughter, Lauren Michelle to Brandon Davis Meeks, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Hughes Meeks of Senatobia. Mr. Meeks is also the son of the late Judith Wilson Meeks.
The wedding will be held Saturday, June 5, 2004, at 6:30 p.m. at Central United Methodist Church.
Miss Powell is the granddaughter of Martha Musick Powell, the late Hiram W. "Doc" Powell, the late Mike L. Dwyer Jr. and Sue Dwyer.
The bride-elect is a graduate of Lamar High School, attended Mississippi State University and received a bachelor's degree in nursing from the University of Mississippi Medical Center.
While attending MSU, she was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority and served on the Health and Wellness Committee.
Miss Powell is employed by Blair E. Batson Children's Hospital in Jackson.
Mr. Meeks is the grandson of Ethelyn Young Meeks and the late Guy Wilson Meeks and the late Mr. and Mrs. Walter Davis Wilson.
The bridegroom-elect is a graduate of Magnolia Heights and received his bachelor's of business degree with an emphasis in financial planning and insurance and risk management from Mississippi State University.
While attending MSU, he was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity, a campus senator and Gamma Iota Sigma.
Mr. Meeks is employed by Brandon Meeks Agency Shelter Insurance Agency.
A reception will be held at Northwood Country Club following the ceremony.
