A private memorial service for Weldon U. Espey will be held today in Meridian. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Espey, 81, of Meridian, died Friday, April 30, 2004, in his home. He served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Minnie Espey of Meridian; sons, Bobby Espey of Collinsville and Kenneth Espey and his wife, Angie, of the Martin Community; daughter, Rita Joyce Rumery and her husband, Don, of Ocean Springs; four grandchildren, Scott Rumery, Damion Rumery, Josh Espey and Abbie Espey; two great-grandchildren, Chelsea Rumery and Blake Rumery; sister, Wanera Pogue and her husband, Arthur, of Pearl; and several nieces and nephews.
The family requests memorials be made to St. Jude's Hospital.

PHILADELPHIA Services for Jamie R. Rickles Jr. will be held today at 2 p.m. at McClain-Hayes Funeral Service Chapel with the Revs. Daniel McFall and Wayne Hill officiating. Burial will be in Cedarlawn Cemetery.
Mr. Rickles, 81, of Philadelphia, died Saturday, May 1, 2004, in his home. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret "Tootsie" Rickles of Philadelphia; a daughter, Kathy J. Hennington of Union; sons, Larry Rickles and Richard Kevin Rickles, both of Philadelphia, and Charles Lynn Rickles and Gary Rickles, both of Vicksburg; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services for Agnes Ballinger Mackey will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at James F. Webb Funeral Home chapel with the Revs. Leon Adams and Keith Grubbs officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Mackey, 80, of Meridian, died Friday, April 30, 2004, at Beverly Health Care. She was a longtime employee of Western Auto, Sears and the pharmacy at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. She was a member of Seventh Street Church of Christ, Meridian Chapter No. 11 of the Order of the Eastern Star and a past member of Daughters of the Nile Guardian Angel Hamasa Provost guard.
Survivors include her daughter, Libby Wilson and her husband, Reuben, of Meridian; sons, Richard E. Mackey of Collinsville, John Danny Mackey and his wife, Joane, of Meridian; sisters, Rose Parker of La Carta, Calf., Edna McOllum of Collinsville and Deloyse Boone of Houston, Texas; grandchildren, Deann Currier and her husband, Brent, of Long Beach, Kim Davidson and her husband, Trey, Jay Mackey and his wife, Teresa, all of Meridian, Dawn Hull and her husband, Ryan, of Collinsville and Joy Sharp and her husband, Jason; great-grandchildren, Courtney Mackey, Matthew Mackey, Jordyn Hull, Brooks Hull, Will Jones, Carley Owen, Matthew Owen and Jeremy Davidson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Mackey Jr.; a grandson, Clint Owen; and her parents, Brooks E. and Erie Ballinger.
Pallbearers will be Henry Wilson, Rudy Corley, Paul Switzer, Jay Mackey, Ryan Hull and Jason Sharp.
Visitation will be held today from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Graveside services for Sarah LaPier Patterson will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Magnolia Cemetery with the Rev. James Ruffin officiating. Stephens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Patterson, 94, of Meridian, formerly of Crystal Springs, died Friday, April 30, 2004, at King's Daughters and Sons Rest Home.
Survivors include her daughter, Mary McRae and her husband, Robert, of Meridian; grandchildren, Steve McRae and his wife, Shelby, of Meridian and Jan McKinlay and her husband, Arch, of St. Louis; and great-grandchildren, Arch McKinlay, Maggie McKinlay and Michael McKinlay, all of St. Louis, and Will McRae and Ali McRae, both of Meridian.
Visitation will be Monday from 9:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.

DEKALB Services for Frank L. Franklin Jr. will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at E.E. McDonald Community Chapel in Meridian, with the Revs. Odell Hopkins and Elvin Sunds officiating. Burial will be in White Oaks Cemetery in Bailey.
Mr. Franklin, 60, of Meridian, died Friday, April 30, 2004, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. He served in the U.S. Air Force.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Marshall Franklin; daughters, Tayna Franklin Turner and her husband, Carlos, of Pascagoula and Katrina Hardy of Meridian; his mother, Alene Franklin of Meridian; sisters, Shirlene Clark of Meridian and Connie Lewis of St. Louis; one grandchild; uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by a son and his father.
The family requests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.
visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the chapel.
