The Lady Wildcats only managed six hits in a six-run loss to Brandon on Monday night. Ebonne Ball had two hits in the loss, including a double for Meridian High.
Lindsay Lang also had a double for the Lady Wildcats.

The Lady Tornadoes scored eight runs in the first inning and cruised to a shutout win over Noxapater on Monday. Dawn Rushing and Shenique Brass led the way with two singles apiece, and Candace Griffin added a home run for Philadelphia.
Erin Breland (2-0) took the pitching win and allowed no hits in the game for Philadelphia.

The Laurel Golden Tornado tennis team ended regular season play Tuesday with a 4-1 victory over Newton County.
In boy's singles, William Hudson (L) defeated Kennard Johnson (NC), 6-4, 3-6, 7-5. In girl's singles, Hannah Burson (L) defeated Kathryn Carroll (NC) 6-7 (7-9), 6-3, third set super tiebreaker 10-6.
In boys' doubles, Adam Axton and Jeremy Purdum (L) defeated Noah Cook and Davarus Walker (NC) 6-4, 6-0. In girls' doubles, Dru Anderson and Lauren McDonald (NC) defeated Anna Cockrell and Ann Haltom (L), 6-2, 6-3.
In mixed doubles, Chris Purdum and Alexa Owens (L) defeated Josh Cook and Maggie McDill (NC) 6-1, 6-1.

The Union Yellowjackets took the tournament championship in a match at the County Line Country Club on Monday. Union ended the tournament with a team score of 154. Clarkdale finished second with a score of 158.
Jonathan Winstead took medalist honors for Union with a low-round score of 32, and Dusty Webb carded the lowest score for the Bulldogs with a 36.

EMCC 8-6
East Mississippi (10-23) dropped a pair of MACJC Central Division games on the road at Holmes to drop to 3-5 in conference action.
In game one, the Lions trailed 8-0 at one point and fell just short by a two-run margin. EMCC had 11 hits in the game, and Justin Faulkner led all hitters with a 3-for-4 performance, including two RBIs.
Brandon Mabry had two hits, including a triple and two RBIs. Drew Snider added two singles and Andrew Pilate (1-6) took the pitching loss in game one.
East Mississippi took a heartbreaking loss in game two as Holmes scored one run late in the game to take the win over the Lions. Lance Burnham led the way with a two-run home run for EMCC. Jonathan Russell took the loss for the Lions and dropped his record to 2-6.
