Scott Dedwylder's hard-luck season changed Saturday night as he led all of the way to win the Late Model Division feature race at the Queen City Speedway.
Dedwylder said he used some setups on his car that he hadn't used in three or four years, and everything came together.
Dedwylder started in the pole position and avoided two early accidents before the first lap was completed. There were also yellow flags on laps 14, 16 and 18.
Wiley Williams came in second while James Dean finished third.
In other races:
Mini stocks: Steve Bryan won the Mini Stocks Division. Bill Banyard, who won the heat race, came in second while Billy Ward placed third.
Modifieds: Ben Stephens jumped into the lead in the first lap and never trailed. Rusty Harrison, whose new car was damaged in an accident last week, rebounded to place second. Harrison won the heat race after Brian Chaney was damaged in a wreck. Chaney came back to place third in the feature race.
Pure Street: Kyle Rutledge won the Pure Street division. Mitchell Moffette came in second while David Mino was third. Howard Walters injured his arm in an accident during the heat race and was taken to the hospital.
Cruiser Class: Michael Kelly and Joe Ulmer drove the No. 6 car to victory for the second week in a row in the feature race of the Cruiser division. Their teammates, Jason Vanderpoorten and Kevin Pierce, won the heat race but had engine problems in the feature race. Ed Hembree and Randy Gilbert placed second while Josh Maggart and Chris Maggart placed third.
Late Model Stock: Marty Long of Philadelphia took over first place after the eighth lap and held on to when the Late Model Stock Division feature race. Brock Busby seemed to have the race under control until he hit the wall. Artist Bunyard came in second while Mike Shirley placed third.
Races continue at Queen City Saturday night. The drivers' meeting is at 6:30 p.m. and time trials start at 7 p.m.
