Clarkdale run-rules Enterprise for win

The Clarkdale Lady Bulldogs jumped out to an early lead and senior pitcher Emily Howard finished the job as they defeated visiting Enterprise 11-1 in girls fast pitch softball Thursday night.
Howard finished the night with nine strikeouts and gave up three hits. Amanda Parker pitched the first two innings for Enterprise and took the loss.
Clarkdale improved to 11-3 overall and 4-0 in the Region 5-2A standings, while Enterprise dropped to 7-10 overall and 1-2 in the division.
Kimbo Seale led off the bottom of the first with a single and scored on Lindsey Dawkins' single. Howard slugged a double to score Potate, and then scored on Sabrina Woodall's single, making the score 3-0.
An Enterprise error with two outs kept Clarkdale at bat during the second inning and the Lady Bulldogs added four runs to their lead. Savannah Satcher knocked in a run for the host Lady Bulldogs and scored on Potate's two RBI triple. Howard walked and stole second. While that was going in, Potate scored from third. Moments later, Howard was tagged out for the third out of the inning as she tried to steal third, and Clarkdale held a 7-0 lead.
Alyssa Bye slugged a three-run homer in the third inning to put Clarkdale up 10-0.
Enterprise scored in the top of the third. Baleigh Volking singled, and later came in on Brittany Speed's single, making it 10-1.
In the bottom of the fifth, Clarkdale's Bye doubled, and then scored on Seal's double to give the Lady Bulldogs the victory by the 10-run rule.
Clarkdale, which finished the night with 10 hits, returns to action Saturday in the Clinton Tournment.
