    Four Trojans get three hits in 13-3 victory

    Meridian 14
    Wayne County 6
    Meridian scored seven runs in the top of the sixth inning and pounded out 11 hits to roll to the road win over Wayne County on Monday night.
    Ebonee Ball led the way for the Lady Wildcats with a home run and Artesian Boyd also went 3-for-5 at the plate with doubles and four RBIs. Carsheena Blanks went 2-for-5 with a double and five RBIs.
    Limerick took the win and collected 10 strikeouts.
    Union 21
    Sebastopol 2
    The Lady Yellow Jackets improved to 8-3 with a convincing win over Sebastopol on Monday night. Union pounded out 15 hits and scored 10 runs in the second inning, which proved to be the big turning point early in the game.
    Lindsey Walker (7-1) pitched a complete game one-hitter to lead the Lady Yellowjackets. Beth Crotwell led the way at the plate for Union with three hits and Lauren White added a pair of doubles in the victory.
    Loren Kennedy also chipped in with two singles and Morgan Milling also had two singles.
    Enterprise 13
    Puckett 3
    The Lady Bulldogs improved to 7-9 for the season with a 10-run win on the road at Puckett Monday night.
    Brittney Speed led Enterprise with two singles and Amanda Parker took the win on the mound for the Lady Bulldogs.
    PREP TENNIS
    Meridian 5
    Hattiesburg 0
    The Meridian High tennis team took a clean sweep of Hattiesburg on Tuesday night in a key divisional showdown at home. Kyle Dew defeated Noel Ebbert by a final of 6-0, 6-1 in boy's singles action. In girl's singles action Anna Allread defeated Kerri Sawyer 6-2, 6-1.
    In boys doubles Graham Woods and Will Compton defeated Adam Farmer and Joey Panela 6-1, 6-0. The Lady Wildcats also took a win in doubles by a final of 6-1, 6-0. Cortney Harris and Kelly Sterling defeated Amanda Neddles and Kelly Farmer.
    Hannah Ford and Nathan Kitttrell defeated Adam Ebbertt and Grace Dixon 6-0, 6-0 in mixed doubles.
    West Lauderdale 4
    Quitman 1
    The Knights turned in a great day on the tennis court by taking a 4-1 team win over the Quitman Panthers. West Lauderdale returns to action today at Newton County beginning at 4 p.m.
    The only loss of the day for West Lauderdale came in girls singles action as Brianne Boudreaux defeated Leigh Cook 6-4, 6-3. Scott Truesdale defeated Lamar Lewis 6-2, 6-4 to secure a win for the Knights in singles action.
    Casey Hedgpeth and Nancy Siefker defeated Ashley Smith and Erica Rowell by a final of 6-4, 4-6, 6-4 in girls doubles. Eric Smith and Josh Sonak defeated Stanley Windham and Nicholas Gunning in boys doubles by a final of 6-4, 6-3. In mixed doubles West Lauderdale closed the day out with a 6-2, 6-0 win by Brook Bounds and Matt Shamrock.
    Newton Co. 3
    Quitman 2
    Newton County took wins in boys singles, girls doubles and mixed doubles on Tuesday to pull out a 3-2 win against Quitman.
    Kennard Johnson took the boys singles win 6-1, 6-3. Lauren McDonald and Dru Anderson combined for a win in the girls doubles match by the score of 6-1, 6-2. Josh Cook and Maggie McDill won the mixed doubles match 6-2, 6-2.
    Quitman's Brianne Boudreaux took the win in the girls singles match with a 6-1, 6-2 showing. Stanley Windham and Nicholas Gunning won the boys doubles match for Quitman 7-6 (8-6), 3-6, 7-5.
    JUCO BASEBALL
    Hinds 9-11
    East Central 4-6
    The Diamond Warriors dropped a pair of home conference games at the hands of Hinds Community College on Tuesday afternoon. In game one the Eagles scored five runs in the seventh inning to break open a 4-1 score.
    Corey Coward led the way at the plate for East Central with three hits and Jacob Townsend added three RBIs on a home run in the game one loss for the Diamond Warriors. Jim Tally (1-3) took the loss on the mound for East Central going six innings and surrendering four earned runs on nine hits.
    JUCO SOFTBALL
    Co-Lin 8-3
    East Central 0-5
    The Lady Warriors were able to salvage a split in game two by a final of 5-3 after being shutout in game one 8-0.
    In game two Lauren Barrett took the win on the mound and Kristin Chaney led the offense with a double.
